New movie site ranks films according to critic reviews largest movie review site on the Internet
OGDEN, Utah January 17, 2007 - TopTenREVIEWS, the leading review site of entertainment and technology, today announced the list of best overall films and best movies by category of 2006: “United 93” was the best movie of the year, “Happy Feet” won for best animated film, “Deliver Us From Evil” is the best documentary, and “Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan” was the best comedy.

TopTenREVIEWS new movie portal (http://movies.toptenreviews.com) ranks and compares movie reviews of every new movie released, giving consumers the ability to find their favorite movies and read how each film is regarded by film critics. Movie review scores are normalized, giving the film an overall score from 0 to 4. Visitors can view the TopTen movies of 2006 and see the rankings of movies that are in theaters in a given week. The site also provides consumers with rankings by genre and all time, Motion Picture Association of America (MPAA) ratings, film descriptions, links to trailers, actor filmographies and qualified links to compare DVD pricing.
In 2006, TopTenREVIEWS ranked about 1,000 movies, using more than 27,000 reviews from 39,000 review sources. These sources include newspapers, TV and blogs, among others. With more than a half of a million reviews of movies, TopTenREVIEWS is the largest movie review Web site on the Internet.
“Our site gives consumers the most comprehensive tools to know how well a movie is rated by critics with the most reviews and the easiest navigation through movie rankings,” said Jerry Ropelato, CEO of TopTenREVIEWS. “In just a few clicks, you can know the best-reviewed movies by year, by decade or by genre, and easily click to see each individual review. Based on all available reviews, “United 93” was the highest-ranked movie of the year with “The Queen”; “Deliver Us from Evil”; “Letters from Iwo Jima”; “The Departed”; and “Pan’s Labyrinth” not far behind in the critic ratings.
After the overall winner “United 93,” the list of TopTen films for 2006 includes (ranked 2 through 10, respectively): “The Queen”; “Deliver Us from Evil”; “Letters from Iwo Jima”; “The Departed”; “Pan’s Labyrinth”; “Children of Men”; “Casino Royale”; “Fateless”; and “Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan.”
