TopTenREVIEWS Launches Player, the first magazine for all types of gamers
OGDEN, Utah - June 22, 2009
OGDEN, Utah - Following the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) June 2 - 4 in Los Angeles, the largest U.S. gaming industry convention, TopTenREVIEWS launched Player, the first gaming magazine to appeal to both casual and core gamers. With firsthand convention coverage, hands on advice for netbook gamers, and a surprising look at today's diverse gamers, Player brings the latest in gaming news with with commentary from TopTenREVIEWS' tech and gaming experts.
"I love the gasps of surprise I get from people when I cite ESA's (Entertainment Software Association) stats on gamers: 40% are female, which is greater than the number of guy gamers under 18, and 26% are over the age of 50. Within two years, more than half of the Fortune 500 companies will have incorporated video games into their program. Yes, Barbie plays Halo and she might even do it at work," said Leslie Meredith, managing editor of Player.
This first issue of Player features a recap of E3 by TeamPlayer with an in-depth look at the day-by-day events that captured their attention, insider tips on getting behind the scenes gameplay, and game releases worth saving up for. Player offers an in-depth look at Microsoft's showstopper Project Natal - a new motion-controlled, artificial intelligence gaming system, reviews of new gaming hardware and instructions on how to mod the modest netbook for gaming.
Player also includes the team's choices for gaming accessories, hardware and essentials for covering any type of event like the Olympus E620 DSLR camera, Acer and HP netbooks, the Verizon MiFi Mobile Hotspot and a pocket-sized Aiptek camcorder to catch all the action.
Player is available for purchase through MagCloud an online on-demand publishing company that incorporates HP's Indigo technology allowing customers to order as many or as few copies of the magazine they want. The first issue of Player is available for $7.20. The magazine will be published quarterly. Fall 2009 will include coverage of the Penny Arcade Expo (PAX) in Seattle, new game reviews and a comprehensive holiday gaming guide. Advertising is accepted, full page and spreads only. Contact
