LessAccounting’s accounting software features a simplistic design that helps make all of your tedious and routine accounting tasks easier to accomplish. This fact is backed up by the company’s tag line, “All small business accounting software sucks, we just suck the least.” This company recognizes how hard accounting can be, especially for small businesses, and has created a service that can help you easily manage your accounting tasks.
Getting set up with LessAccounting is mostly problem free, although the process could benefit from some more guided options. If you’re a first-time bookkeeping software user, you might get confused the first time opening the software as it doesn’t guide you every step of the way like some other services do. You also don’t have access on mobile devices through any kind of mobile app. If you want to look at your account on the go, you need to log in through your mobile device’s web browser, which is typically an inconvenience. LessAccounting doesn’t allow you to track inventory, which may be a problem if you have services or products that you want to manage as you sell.
LessAccounting supports basic accounting tasks like tracking invoices, mileage, payments, expenses and quotes or estimates. For the most part, performing these tasks within the interface is intuitive and free of issues, but the process lacks some of the advanced customization options that other services have. Adding clients and vendors is mostly simple, although we experienced some navigation quirks here and there that made for some confusion during the process. Having a cloud-based interface that you need to scroll through to get to the end of the process can be a little frustrating at times, especially when you think you have already entered the appropriate information and you’re not sure what you missed when you get an error.
This cloud-based accounting software comes in three packages: Freelancers, Small Businesses and Big Businesses. Each package is separated by how much you as a business spend per month, with the lowest amount being less than $10,000. As your business grows, you can upgrade to a package that allows you to track your increased expenses better.
When you need support, you can get your answers through LessAccounting’s email and phone support teams. When we contacted the company through both of these means, we didn’t have to wait long, and we were sufficiently pleased with the answers we received from the representatives. You can’t seek answers through user forums, as LessAccounting does not have a user community site.
LessAccounting helps you get rid of the stress that often comes from keeping your books. The service is a lightweight in the accounting software ring, but it does exactly what it needs to do. It can help you get paid on time and help you be ready for filing your taxes. This software doesn’t offer a lot of additional features like other companies, but it handles the basics nicely.
