If you prefer desktop software to online services, SliQ is a good choice for billing and invoicing software. It is an intuitive program that is easy to navigate. The system stores customer, product and services information. You have total control of the invoices so you can customize and personalize invoices to reflect your company's aesthetics.
This software makes setting up your account simple, walking you through steps to enter your company information, select your currency and add a logo. Customer profiles provide spaces for contact information, notes and attachments. You can also view each customer's statements and payment history. The invoice software tracks product prices and notes, and you can opt to set up stock control, which helps you know when you need to reorder an item. You are able to specify the payment terms and tax.
When it comes to customizing templates, you have complete control over every element on the page. You have 11 templates – with or without a remittance slip – dozens of fonts and colors, and you can resize and reposition the fields. When creating an invoice, you can select from customers and items already in the system or add new ones as you create the invoice, and the software saves them in your lists. You have the option to set recurring transactions or set the entire invoice to recur. You can add a message for the customer, delivery notes and attachments along with the standard email and invoice PDF. Once you've finished the invoice, you can save it for later, print or export it, or email it.
This software is dated in that it requires you to enter your email server, port and login credentials to use Gmail and other web-based email. SliQ easily links to your Outlook if you have that set up. However, we were unsuccessful at setting up our Gmail. When your email is successfully set up, you can set the system to send automatic past-due notices when customers miss payments.
A standard feature of billing software is the ability to run reports to track sales, payments, products and other facets of your company. With SliQ, you can choose from over 20 reports and specify the range for the dates, including previous months, all time or a custom range. You can print, email or export the reports to PDFs or Excel.
The website is a good resource if you have any questions about how to use the software. A link in the invoice program takes you to the help page online. Video tutorials can walk you through setting up aspects of the software, and if you would like to contact customer service, you have the option to send an email. There is no phone support or live chat.
SliQ Invoicing is one of the simpler desktop platforms for billing and invoice software. It is easy to navigate with intuitive tools. It’s the best for customization, but setting up email can be difficult. Otherwise, this is a very good choice for invoice software.
