Pinnacle Cart Review

PROS / Pinnacle Cart’s shopping cart platform received some of the highest scores in our ease-of-use tests.

CONS / This shopping cart plan does not include important security features with service.

VERDICT / Pinnacle Cart ranks high in ease of use but comes up short in our lineup due to its lack of several important features, including built-in security.

Pinnacle Cart’s online store builder offers basic features needed for creating your website and online store. While it lacks important features we were looking for in online shopping carts, it offers an easy-to-use platform, which makes it a good choice for those who are less technically savvy.

For our review, we evaluated Pinnacle Cart’s Entrepreneur platform, which is designed for use by small to medium businesses. This plan has no setup or transactions and does not limit the number of products you can sell on your site at one time. Furthermore, this online shopping cart software provides 10GB of storage and 20GB of bandwidth. While these amounts should meet your shopping cart needs, many companies on our lineup offer unlimited storage and bandwidth.

In our tests, Pinnacle Cart was one of the top performers in ease of use. With this platform, you can order a customized design, or using CSS or HTML, you can work with one of the free, highly customizable templates already available on the platform. When our reviewers tested Pinnacle Cart, they had little trouble editing the templates, changing texts and images and adding products.

This online shopping cart integrates with WordPress and provides a unique domain for your store. While these features are useful, we found Pinnacle Cart to be missing certain important features, such as a built-in blog for your site and a Content Delivery Network (CDN), which may slow down your website. Slower processing speeds could result in a loss of sales. Another drawback with this website shopping cart is that the site goes live as soon as you build it. This means you do not have time review your site and make sure it is complete and functional before customers access it.

Pinnacle offers multi-language storefronts, so you can offer you website in more languages than English. It is also compatible with 30 different payments processers, which means that you may be able to stay with your current provider when you open your online shopping cart. Another useful feature is Pinnacle’s PayPal and mobile device capabilities. These features help your customers easily check out on your site at any time.

This website shopping cart lacks important security features. Pinnacle lacks fraud detection in its Entrepreneur plan, though you can add this service for an additional fee. An SSL certificate also costs extra with this plan. Pinnacle does not provide any custom email accounts with service, nor does it offer a POS system, which is a disadvantage if you have a physical storefront you wish to merge with your online sales.

Customer support provided by Pinnacle is about average. The company offers free 24/7 phone support with its shopping cart software plan and an online knowledgebase. This online shopping cart is lacking live chat and does not connect you with a support representative when you sign up.

Summary

Pinnacle Cart is an easy-to-use website shopping cart builder, with basic features for creating your online store. However, it lacks important security options and does not provide customized email accounts. If ease of use is important to you, Pinnacle Cart is a good choice for your online shopping cart needs.
