ShopSite Pro is a good eCommerce shopping cart designed for small and medium online businesses. This shopping cart software delivers powerful administrative controls and is conveniently web based, so you can access your site's back office from any device with an internet connection. ShopSite Pro doesn't have all of the features we look for, but it is an effective eCommerce solution for online merchants.
ShopSite Pro's WYSIWYG editor is ideal if you don't have experience with website coding. The editor is not as robust or feature rich as other webshop software we reviewed and only offers nine templates to modify; however, if your needs aren't complex, the ease of use makes up for the limited options. The software's site design allows each product category you create its own site page, which allows for a highly customizable webshop. The pages are listed on a static left bar on your website, making a category tree that's easy to navigate. This helps organize your site in a logical manner and gives it a professional, streamlined appearance.
ShopSite Pro comes with most of the eCommerce features we expect in top-notch shopping cart software. Like most webshop software, it lets you customize your checkout pages and configure your site's shipping and taxes based on your predetermined shipping destinations. It provides real-time credit card authorization through integrated payment gateways, along with detailed sales, inventory and traffic reports. ShopSite does not, however, provide in-house payment processing.
On the marketing side, you'll find most of the usual features of a good webshop software, such as social media integrations, upsell capability and loyalty programs. However, the lack of an abandoned cart feature is a drawback because you can’t automatically contact customers who leave your store before purchasing to coax them back.
ShopSite allows for affiliate programs, which not all shopping cart programs do. This lets you set up third party buyers to increase your store's income. However, ShopSite doesn't allow you to manage your Amazon or eBay sales. You also can't use this software to manage your physical store.
ShopSite lacks a few store features like product comparison, gift registries and image zoom. Your customers can pay securely through this software, as it is PCI-complaint and has secure socket layer encryption.
ShopSite Pro is respectable shopping cart software that will create a professional-looking website that's easy to navigate. It has detailed reporting options to help you successfully manage and build your online store. ShopSite Pro does not have all of the features we look for, but it is still a good choice for anyone looking for a new or replacement eCommerce shopping cart.
