PROS / It has a proprietary analytics tool to track site statistics.

VERDICT / Squarespace's responsive templates and free shopping cart make it easy to create an attractive and useful business website that works on mobile devices as well as desktops.
Squarespace is one of the most popular applications in website builder software. This popularity is rightfully earned, as it is easy to use and has great marketing tools and solid hosting plans to back it up. If you're looking to build a mobile-responsive website for personal use or for a small business, you should consider Squarespace. It is our Top Ten Reviews Bronze Award winner for website creation software.
Design & Multimedia
Simplicity is the key to Squarespace's website software suite. The dashboard and drag-and-drop tools are easy enough for users of any experience level to create a website from scratch. You can also customize your site with an HTML or CSS editor. Squarespace has a fantastic photo gallery; unfortunately, it costs extra. The website creation program does, however, have an image editor with a thorough set of features so you can manipulate images to fit the needs of your website. If you need to change the template, you can do so without losing content you already created.
Each website also converts automatically to fit tablet and phone screens, a big advantage, because statistics show that digital shoppers are increasingly using their mobile devices to research and purchase items.
You can password-protect pages, which can be helpful if you need control over which pages you publish and which pages you block from public view. Squarespace also offers a blogging system. You can export your website to another service if you cancel your plan with Squarespace. This is a big advantage, and one not that is offered by most of the website building applications on our lineup.
Squarespace performs incredibly well with its reporting tools. It integrates with the industry standard, Google Analytics, but also has proprietary tools. Squarespace's interface also helps your site's organic growth by letting you add meta descriptions, and it provides advertising credits to give you a head start in paid search results. You can also integrate with Google Maps, and custom branding is available for your site, which includes your own domain name and removes advertisements.
This service does not charge for PayPal integration or its proprietary shopping cart feature. It's one of the few in our lineup that doesn't charge an extra fee for this online retail tool.
We reviewed Squarespace's Business Plan. With the Business Plan, you have access to a free custom domain. Only one site is included in this plan, so if you need to make multiple websites, you have to sign up and pay for multiple plans.
However, you have unlimited storage, and there's no limit to the number of pages you can have on your site. No custom email addresses come with this plan; however, you can purchase email accounts via G Suite for a small monthly fee.
Help & Support
When you sign up with Squarespace, you get access to tutorials with topics ranging from how to make a website to starting a trial subscription. There's also a knowledgebase for specific questions and support forums for getting tips or more specific answers to unique situations. If you need immediate personal help, you can contact Squarespace by email or live chat.
Squarespace is an excellent choice for building a small business website. It offers first-rate options, including free shopping cart software and responsive templates. Its Business Plan only allows for one website, and site-specific emails cost extra, but the analytics are excellent, and it provides advertising credits. If you want a simple-to-use but SEO-friendly website builder, Squarespace is worth considering.
