TopTenREVIEWS - Bronze Award - Awarded for excellence in design, usability and feature set

One of the more customizable business VoIP services, 8x8 has standard calling features needed for client outreach and it integrates with third-party apps. It is the winner of our Top Ten Reviews Bronze Award for best business VoIP phone service.

The biggest downfall to 8x8 is its lack of advanced queuing options. These cost extra. On the plus side, it does support ring groups. These allow you to have multiple lines ring when one extension or number is dialed. The service charges for call monitoring features, which are oftentimes included with other competing providers. You can record custom greetings, though.

The service integrates with applications such as Salesforce, SugarCRM and Outlook. These help you keep notes on your customers and improve relationships with your contacts and prospective clients. It has a comprehensive suite of analytics, including data such as agent performance, active calls, call queue status and call quality. You can even graph your findings.

Call Management

This VoIP provider includes basic calling features like call waiting, caller ID and hold music. It also supports voicemail to email and has an auto-receptionist that directs your callers. You can set up more phone lines, obtain a toll-free number, and send and receive faxes using your VoIP line, but these features cost extra, unfortunately.

Service Plan

You have two plans to select from: Virtual Office and Virtual Office Pro. The latter includes web conferencing, internet faxing and the ability to record calls.

When it comes to outgoing calls, you can pay 2.9 cents per minute after using 250 minutes of domestic calls within the U.S. and Canada, or select from one of the more popular unlimited calling plans which include calling to Puerto Rico, Guam, U.S. Virgin Islands, France, Ireland, Italy, Spain and the United Kingdom. There’s a more expensive international calling plan, Global Extension, which supports 35 countries.

Help & Support

This business VoIP provider has two server locations and a fully redundant network. Its service-level agreement can ensure a reliable network with little to no downtime. Like most providers we reviewed, 8x8 stands by its network with a 30-day money back guarantee. The provider offers 24/7 support, and you can reach out by telephone, email or live chat.

Despite lacking specialized features like automatic distribution call queues, 8x8 provides a high-quality business VoIP service to meet your business needs by offering its customers a reliable network, strong customer support and several calling plans to choose from.
