Rescuecom Review

Author by

As one might guess from its name, Rescuecom specializes in computer repair services for consumers and small businesses. Rescuecom offers most of the standard services you could need from an online tech support provider. This PC support service is not as diverse or accommodating as some others, but it is a good option for unlimited, U.S.-based technical support.

Aside from computer repair, Rescuecom services a wide range of peripherals – virtually any device that connects to your computer. This tech service also works with televisions; it can help you connect your computer to your TV to use it as a monitor or to browse the web. The service also supports an assortment of computer brands and operating systems, including Apple, Windows, Acer and Toshiba. For on-site tech support, Rescuecom can dispatch local techs to your home or business.

This remote support service offers two pricing options: a one-time fix or an annual subscription. While one-time fixes are often best if you're tech savvy and rarely need additional tech support, Rescuecom's single-repair services tend to be pricey. You get more for your money with this service's unlimited subscription. This includes comprehensive, 24-hour remote support for your computer, printer, smartphone and other peripherals. The duration of the contract is 12 months, with no option for a shorter term or a month-to-month contract.

Rescuecom lacks some service features and support options that other tech services offer. The most glaring omission is live chat on the Rescuecom website. Online chat is a fundamental function of most online tech support services, so we're always surprised when we come across a company that does not offer it.

The Rescuecom website also doesn't allow you to create an online account to track your service, nor does it have self-help tools such as how-to articles and troubleshooting guides. Rescuecom doesn't give you an option to drop your electronics off at a physical location either, but with the rise in popularity of remote support, this isn't a common service option among tech support companies.

Rescuecom emerges as a solid online tech support service in a saturated industry. Although its one-time repairs can be costly and its lack of online chat is highly inconvenient, this remote support service delivers comprehensive services for your entire arsenal of tech devices.
