PROS / Its audit trails and reports help you comply with labor regulations.
CONS / Hours for salaried employees aren't tracked by this system.
VERDICT / If compliance with labor laws is one of your biggest concerns when selecting time and attendance software, Kronos' Workforce Ready is a good choice.
One feature that sets Kronos' Workforce Ready apart from other time and attendance systems is its powerful audit trails and reports that make it compliant with Defense Contract Audit Agency (DCAA) regulations. These are standards that are required for government contractors. Additionally, Kronos meets SSAE 16 data security standards, which means sensitive information is secure when it's shared between companies.
Kronos' Workforce Ready has a relatively clean interface. It earned a 90 percent score in overall usability. In our testing, we evaluated both the employee and administer portals and how well we were able to quickly and conveniently accomplish the basic tasks each type of employee performs using the software. The company doesn't offer professional setup. It has training resources online that teach you how to use specific features. It hosts your data on its secure servers and regularly backs up your timecard data.
In addition to the basic tasks of tracking hours worked, paid time-off accruals and time-off requests, Kronos' Workforce Ready lets your employees clock in and out of specific projects and track the time spent on each one. This can help you evaluate how productive your employees are while on the clock. Although this system is useful for tracking hourly employees, it doesn't track hours for salaried employees.
The administrative portal lets you run the reports you need for payroll and HR purposes. This includes audit trails that are DCAA compliant and reports that highlight the punch history of individual employees so you can quickly see whether employees are taking too many breaks or are consistently coming in late.
This employee tracking system has powerful tools that let you forecast a particular project and schedule the employees you need for the job. Additionally, you can manage shift swaps and cover sick employees quickly.
Through the administrative portal, you are able to see at a glance who is currently on the clock. You can receive notifications if someone had missed a punch and retroactively adjust times and payroll amounts if you find a mistake. Kronos' Workforce Ready time and attendance system is compatible with most payroll software systems and services.
If you have a question, you can connect with courteous and knowledgeable support personnel via email or telephone. This is especially helpful if you need assistance running payroll, whether the system is integrated with a payroll provider or you simply need to create and export the CSV files. There is no live chat and no FAQs on the company's website.
This time and attendance software integrates with a variety of physical time clocks. Both badge terminals and biometric time clocks can be used with Kronos' Workforce Ready. If your employees work offsite, they can clock in and out using the mobile app since system doesn’t integrate with rugged time clocks.
Kronos' Workforce Ready is a great tool for tracking your hourly employee's time and attendance. It tracks paid time-off accruals, includes a notification system and can help you monitor productivity. The reports, including the audits, are DCAA compliant and meet SSAE standards if they must be shared with others outside your company. Professional setup isn't available and the system doesn't track hours for salary employees.
