 VERDICT / Act is good CRM software that’s easy to use, but even with its sales and marketing tools, you’ll only be able to complete several tasks by integrating with third-party apps.

Act is popular CRM software that helps you organize and store contact data. We reviewed Act’s Premier plan, which is available on the cloud or as an on-premise program, depending on which plan you choose. It’s easy to navigate the software, and many options in the program are customizable. However, Act doesn’t have all the in-depth solutions we looked for.

Like all the best CRM software, Act tracks your staff's interactions with your customers and compares IT problems and other complaints across all your contacts. These features can help you anticipate your customers’ problems to provide better service.

By integrating Act with your email applications, you can download and store data in one centralized location. You can also create and send email marketing campaigns, as well as integrate with some social media channels.

This CRM suite’s intuitive interface includes a left menu bar, which has tabs for important functions so that you can reach the most common tasks easily. An overall menu at the top of the program highlights major features for schedules, eCommerce functions and contact information. You can customize these menus to match your company's needs and help you find the most relevant information quickly and easily.

This small business CRM software is less expensive than most of the software on our lineup; however, it is also less robust in its features. You can pay additional fees to add on features like invoicing and file sharing, or you can integrate with third-party programs or apps using Act’s API capabilities.

Act’s website has training videos and a comprehensive knowledgebase to help you in case you run into any problems with this CRM software. If you’d like user manuals, however, you must purchase them separately. You can reach out to an Act representative via email, phone or live chat.

Summary

Act’s interface is easy to use and customizable. This software provides the most important features for CRM solutions, but not all the features we looked for are available without paying extra or integrating with a third-party application. However, Act would be a good choice if you need to spend relatively little on CRM software; just keep in mind that you may need to pay for integrations as your company grows.
