The Canon imageCLASS LBP151dw is a basic monochrome wireless laser printer. This budget device has a compact design, fast printing speeds and low operating costs. However, it’s missing several features found on higher-ranked models, such as a touchscreen display, and its print quality doesn’t measure up to the best.

The imageCLASS LBP151dw is one of the smallest printers we reviewed. It is a print-only machine, so it doesn’t scan, fax or copy. It also doesn’t have a touchscreen display, though it doesn’t necessarily need one – the machine is simple enough that its three control buttons do just fine.

During our tests, this wireless laser printer produced readable documents, but they had a substantial number of errors. In the 10-page text-heavy document we printed, we found 26 printing errors. For example, the printer cut off the bottoms of some letters. We could still read the content and the quality was passable, but the documents didn’t look nearly as good as those printed on higher-ranked models, like the HP MFP-M477fdw.

During our testing, this machine printed at an average speed of 18 pages per minute. This is one of the fastest black-and-white wireless laser printers we reviewed.

Another one of this printer’s good features is its low operating cost. Based on the price of toner cartridges, it costs about $0.04 per page to print with this machine. Additionally, this printer can hold up to 250 sheets of paper, so you shouldn’t have to refill the paper tray often.

You can print from your smartphone or tablet using the Canon Print Business app as well as Mopria and Google Cloud Print. This printer is not compatible with Apple AirPrint. Additionally, you cannot print from USB storage devices.

This wireless printer is covered under a one-year manufacturer warranty. You can contact Canon by email and telephone, but live chat support isn’t available. You can also consult the online user manual and the FAQs section on the product’s website.

The compact Canon imageCLASS LBP151dw is better suited to use in the home than a busy office – it doesn’t have the features needed to handle multiple users, and its print quality is middling. However, it prints quickly and has a low operating cost. This printer is worth considering if perfection isn’t your primary concern.
