The Vizio M420KD is an internet TV that allows you to watch TV and access dozens of internet apps. The included QWERTY keyboard remote has gaming controls. These peripherals allow you to surf and play on your TV in a similar manner that you do on your computer or gaming console. You also have the ability to connect your internet-ready TV to your network and access music, video and other files stored on other electronics connected to your LAN.
The Vizio M420KD connects to the internet with a handful of web apps Vizio preinstalled on this smart TV. However, this internet-connected TV doesn't have full browsing capabilities. These apps provide access to many internet features you're accustomed to on your computer browser. However, you'll have to acclimate yourself to operating within the apps Vizio provides. While the internet experience is present, it feels quite truncated.
This smart TV touts a beautiful 42-inch screen and a sleek 2-inch profile. The viewing angle is an acceptable 178 degrees. Everyone in the room should have a great view of the screen regardless of where they sit.
The resolution of the Vizio M420KD tops out at 1920x1080 pixels. That's the highest definition any mass media device. It has the ability to display 24 frames per second when playing movies.
