Only a few short years ago, Broderbund's Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Design Deluxe was the pinnacle of scrapbooking software suites, providing new multimedia and import/export options for scrapbooking. But recently, other scrapbooking software suites have quietly not only included but improved upon these multimedia and import/export options. While most aren't likely to be disappointed by Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Designer Deluxe, the truth remains, there are better products out there.
While it might not be as cutting-edge as it once was, the Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Designer Deluxe still offers a lot in the way of multimedia and importing/exporting. Unfortunately, these features aren't as streamlined as other scrapbooking software suites, often making these processes difficult.
The Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Designer Deluxe provides for both scanner and direct digital camera importing.
The Creating Keepsakes photo workshop gives you a full toolbox for photo editing. It also includes special photo effects, such as brush effects, stamps, filters, warps and more. These extra tools are comparable to what you'd find on your average photo editing software suite, but is designed with the digital scrapbooker in mind. The tools are easy enough to understand to get you started without delay.
You can share your finished projects on paper, through email, as screen savers, or even as a slide show. You can also upload your scrapbook creations to Broderbund online for others to enjoy. You can also save images to your hard drive or disc under categories you name for easy and organized retrieval.
While it lacks most of the multimedia capabilities offered by other scrapbooking software suites, Creating Keepsakes still isn't half-bad. But for those that want to take their scrapbooking to new places and want more exporting options, check out our top-ranked digital scrapbooking software.
