The Kenmore Elite 12783 dishwasher is an energy-efficient model with various eco-friendly wash and dry options. The model is backed by ENERGY STAR, and its annual estimated cost is $31. With a focus on energy efficiency, the normal cycle runs for 150 minutes, which is longer than most of the units in our best dishwashers’ lineup.
This Kenmore dishwasher has six automatic cycles including normal, pots and pans, quick wash, and high temperature. With the wash options, you can employ an eco-friendly wash, rinse, delicate and upper rack-only cycles. The dishwasher also has wash zones that you can put your heavily soiled dishes in to get a deep cleaning.
You can also use this dishwasher to sanitize your dishes. It is National Sanitation Foundation certified and uses variable spray pressures to thoroughly clean your dishes. Unfortunately, the dishwasher lacks an air dry option. However, it uses heat and a fan to dry your dishes, making it more energy-efficient than simply employing the heating element.
This dishwasher has a flexible design. With adjustable racks and fold-down tines, you can transform the dishwasher so that even your odd-shaped dishes will fit. The unit has the capacity to hold 12 place settings on its upper and lower rack.
We awarded the dishwasher an 85 percent ease-of-use score because it offers so many convenience features in addition to its flexible design. The unit has an eight-hour delay start timer that you can use to run your dishwasher during off-peak hours. It also has a soil sensor that measures the turbidity of the water on some cycles. This feature helps with energy efficiency by limiting how long the cycles run.
While the built-in dishwasher lacks a hard-food disposer and status light, it features hidden touch-sensitive controls, as well as a child lock. The model has a bar handle on the outside and you can purchase it in black, white or stainless steel. With a stainless steel interior serving as an insulator, the machine measures at 43 decibels when running. The unit has two spray arms and a removable filter that you have to clean manually.
The stainless steel dishwasher has a solid warranty. The company covers labor for one year after the purchase date, and parts for two years. The racks and electronics are covered for five years, and the tub and door liner have a lifetime warranty. Kenmore lists contact information for phone and email. Unfortunately, Kenmore does not have a live-chat option available.
The Kenmore Elite 12783 dishwasher has a wide selection of wash cycles and options. This energy-efficient model employs eco-friendly wash and dry options, and it has a soil sensor to use the least amount of energy and water as possible during wash cycles.
