With heavy-duty construction and a wealth of accessories, the Intex PureSpa 77 Jet Massage Spa offers quite a bit for an inflatable hot tub, but this one has something extra. This model of the Intex PureSpa inflatable hot tub features real water jets, for a touch of luxury that most cheap inflatable hot tubs can’t match.
The inflatable spa measures 77 inches across, and it is made using Intex’s proprietary Fiber-Tech Construction, a three-ply laminated material that sandwiches structured fiber material between standard PVC material. In addition to reinforcing the PVC sheeting, the structured fiber core adds rigidity to the overall structure, and the walls of the hot tub are sturdy enough for an adult to lean against or sit on. With an interior diameter of 55 inches and a depth of 28 inches, the tub will hold up to 210 gallons and seat up to four adults. It also comes with a carrying bag for the uninflated tub and other components that make it easy to transport and store.
The accompanying pump and heater unit has a few extra features, like built-in water softening and an integrated filter with swappable filter cartridges. The heater can be set to any temperature between 68 F and 104 F using the digital control panel, and the heater will raise the temperature at a rate of 2 to 3 degrees per hour. The pump heater can be powered from a standard 110- to 120-volt outlet, and it includes a power cord with a ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) plug.
Unlike most of the inflatable spas on the market, which rely on air powered bubble jets, this Intex inflatable hot tub has four built-in water jets backed with a 0.9-horsepower pump. It obviously won’t compare well to a standard permanent hot tub, which can feature dozens of jets, but among the selection of inflatable hot tubs, it’s a unique luxury. However, no bubble jets means no air blower to power them, so there’s no built in air-blower to inflate the hot tub during setup. Intex provides a dedicated inflation pump for just this reason.
The tub comes with a fitted cover, but while many inflatable tubs supplement this with an inflatable top cover, Intex puts the inflatable bladder inside the cover, making them a single item. The result is a cover that is simple to put on and remove, with all of the improved heating benefits offered by standard two-piece cover designs. The cover includes locking straps, so it can be snuggly attached for faster heating and secured safely between uses. A ground mat is also included.
The PureSpa comes with two filter cartridges, a floating chlorine dispenser, a pack of test strips and an air pressure gauge to prevent over-inflation. All this is in addition to the carrying bag, dedicated inflation pump and hard water treatment system built into the pump heater. Intex covers the PureSpa with a one-year limited warranty, covering both the pump and inflatable tub.
The Intex PureSpa 77 Jet Massage Spa offers quality construction and unique features, and it is one of the only inflatable hot tubs on the market featuring actual water jets. It also comes with a generous assortment of accessories and features a solid warranty. All of this makes the Intex PureSpa a great choice when you're looking for an inflatable hot tub.
