The Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express is a rewards credit card that you can use to earn miles from qualified purchases, which you can use for Delta travel fares, travel upgrades and shopping for merchandise. You can earn double miles with any qualifying Delta purchases you make.

This rewards card includes a very nice sign-up bonus if you make the required purchases. Within the first three months of having the card, if you make $1,000 in eligible purchases, American Express will credit you with 30,000 bonus miles.

This American Express card comes with many other perks including its priority boarding. If you use your rewards card to purchase the Delta fare, you will be able to receive priority boarding, which can get you on the plane and into your seat before the majority of the people on the flight.

This American Express card doesn’t offer an introductory annual percentage rate of 0% like so many rewards credit cards do. Any purchases you make will immediately be held to a 15.24%-19.24% Variable rate. Additionally, if you plan to transfer any balances to this card, the APR will also be 15.24%-19.24% Variable. For cash advances, the APR will be 25.24% Variable, and the penalty APR is 27.24% Variable.

This rewards card has pretty standard fees for a credit card, but we were disappointed that after the first year of a $0 annual fee, you will pay a $95 annual fee for this American Express card.

Any balance transfers or cash advances you make will be charged a $5 or 3% fee, while any purchases you make overseas will be charged a 2.7% fee. If you make any late payments, you will be charged a fee up to $35, but if you pay your bill within the 25-day grace period, you won’t have to worry about the late fee.

Like most credit cards, this rewards card offers you car rental loss and damage insurance and travel accident insurance when you use your card to purchase the travel fare or rent a car. You will also have extended warranty and purchase protection when you use your card.

Contacting American Express for member support is easy and can be done by phone or even live chat on its website. Additionally, American Express is there to help you with your card anytime and also provides 24/7 Global Assist® when you are traveling 100 miles or more away from your home.

The Gold Delta SkyMiles® Credit Card from American Express is a rewards credit card that will help you earn free flights through Delta and its partners. You will earn miles for qualifying purchases you make that can be redeemed for more than just Delta travel, and you will receive a handful of other travel benefits as well.
