Walden is quite clear about its idealistic mission, which is not just to provide online education. This school was founded with a mission to create social change through online degrees granted to people who want to make an impact throughout the world. Since 2011, the school has issued an annual Social Change Impact Report.

In addition, this online school regularly hosts several wide-ranging events to promote progress, including Global Days of Service. During these times, Walden students take part in a multitude of community service efforts such as assisting at food banks and domestic violence shelters or working on neighborhood improvement projects in different countries.

Although Walden University is completely online, the school offers a global classroom experience. You can interact with other students from diverse backgrounds and cultures and be exposed to new perspectives. Like any class, the online classroom includes weekly discussion topics, required readings and assignments listed on a syllabus.
