Audio Lunchbox Review

Audio Lunchbox is an independent music lover’s dream. They have more than two million songs by independent and small label artists. This music download service is well organized, aesthetically pleasing and completely DRM free, which means all of the music on this site works with iPod.

All songs are in MP3 format, allowing you unlimited burns and portable transfers. Each album page includes the artist, label, genre and release. You can also submit user reviews. Audio Lunchbox doesn’t offer any additional features like artist bios. However, the “Listeners also bought” section on each page is helpful for those looking for similar music.

Audio Lunchbox offers two types of payment options, credit card and account credits. By purchasing account credits you get more music for your dollar. Most songs are 1 credit and albums 10. Their smallest subscription was $9.99 (the average price for an album) for 40 credits, plus 50 free credits for signing up. We liked that you were given the option and not forced into a subscription.

In all, we found Audio Lunchbox to be a great service for independent music fans, but most people are looking for the music they hear on the radio. Additionally, our number 3 service, Amazon MP3, includes a slightly larger selection with better known artists.
