IdentityForce UltraSecure+Credit is a superb, all-round way to get financial and data security for you and your family. As such it currently tops our best identity theft protection services above the best in the rest.

As we move online with our real lives becoming digitized, our security is more at risk in that world. IdentityForce works to make sure that digital identity, and your connected real world identity, are kept secure so that you don't have to worry about your data being used by another illegally.

IdentityForce Family Plans

If you're looking to protect your entire family, we've got exclusive pricing on the IdentityForce Family plans, which protect a partner and all your children.

While you might be careful to keep your credit card number and Social Security Number secure, they're likely in the databases of lots of big companies right now. When they get hacked, as happens more often these days, your details are at risk.

So on top of being careful online with the likes of a VPN and malware protection, it pays to have dedicated identity theft protection in place and IdentityForce UltraSecure+Credit does exactly that for you and your family.

All our reviews of identity theft protection apps and services examine features, pricing, alternative options, and what you actually get with each product. We do not go hands-on with these services for our reviews because it is almost impossible to accurately simulate and test these services. In order to properly test ID Theft apps we would need to purposefully hack accounts to assess the level of protection, provide personally identifiable information that would compromise our reviewer, and we would need to perform multiple credit checks - all over the course of several months.

IdentityForce UltraSecure+Credit: Plans and pricing

We reviewed a plan called the UltraSecure+Credit which costs $23.95 a month and includes credit monitoring along with a complete identity-monitoring suite. If it’s just identity protection that you’re after, then the UltraSecure plan covers all personal identifying information from $17.95 per month.

This plan has a 30-day free trial, and we didn’t find many differences between the plans. If you want to pay a little less per month, this is a suitable option for identity protection, though it is considered to be less complete. You can also pay annually which saves around the equivalent of two monthly payments.

IdentityForce UltraSecure + Credit review: How easy is it to use?

The client’s dashboard is quite hectic, with many tabs and icons highlighted for your attention. That said, this is one of the few drawbacks of opting for IdentityForce UltraSecure+Credit. There is a lot to discover, from simulators and calculators to learning materials. You will need the patience to really sift through the dashboard, but it is worth it, as you will better understand IdentityForce’s role in protecting your identity.

The area where IdentityForce stands out the most is in the identity monitoring tools it provides. With the UltraSecure+Credit plan you get complete monitoring of your personal information such as Social Security numbers, driver’s license, phone number and email addresses. IdentityForce also has advanced tools that check to see if your address has been changed or if someone has gotten a payday loan using your identity. It also checks your social media profiles to ensure that they haven’t been hacked. Since this is all displayed clearly, once you know where that section lives, you can easily keep tabs for peace of mind.

If your identity is compromised, IdentityForce works with you to resolve any issues. The agents you work with can help you file police reports and in some cases help you work with private investigators to clear up any fraud on your accounts. If your wallet is lost or stolen, IdentityForce will help you quickly cancel and replace any lost cards. Only Norton Lifelock is as effective when it comes to post-theft care.

One of the main benefits of signing up for a service such as IdentityForce is that it will alert you of any suspicious activity on your accounts. If someone uses your information to open a new line of credit, for example, you’ll be notified by email or text or through the app. Then IdentityForce will work with you to resolve the issue.

With the UltraSecure+Credit plan, you receive quarterly updates on your Experian, Equifax and TransUnion reports. By law you’re entitled to one free credit report a year from each of the three bureaus. By getting more frequent updates, you have a clearer idea of your credit and can spot errors or discrepancies before they have any impact.

You also get anytime access to your credit scores. The score offered by IdentityForce uses the Vantiv 3.0 model. This is an educational score created from TransUnion data. An educational score means that the numbers you see through IdentityForce won’t necessarily be the same as those used by lenders when making decisions. Vantiv uses a 300 to 850 scale that is very similar to FICO scores. Since it’s an educational score and is calculated differently from FICO scores, you may see some variations between the two.

Experts recommend paying as much attention to your reports as you do the score. The reports show the underlying data that make up your scores, and if you find errors or discrepancies, getting those removed can have a positive effect on your score and increase your credit utilization.

Both UltraSecure and the +Credit options have family options built in. These offer the same protection features as the regular plans, but also include the Childwatch option as standard. Each one covers you, your partner, and a number of children, giving you peace of mind that your whole family is protected. Expect to pay about $15 per month more for a family plan, which is fantastic value if you're already subscribed to the +Credit plan.

IdentityForce UltraSecure+Credit: Features

IdentityForce also provides some additional tools for monitoring your credit. The credit score simulator lets you see how getting a new credit card or loan, or paying off an existing line of credit, can affect your score. You can even see how different amounts will affect it.

There’s also a score tracker that plots your score over time so you can see how your financial habits can change your score. You’ll also be able to access your information through the IdentityForce mobile app.

One of the best ways to help protect your credit from fraud is by putting a freeze on your credit reports, and this is now something you can do through IdentityForce. Excellent. If you find an error on one of your credit reports, IdentityForce lets you easily submit disputes through your dashboard. You just click the Dispute link and send your request directly to whichever bureau’s report the error is on.

If you have children, you can opt into the ChildWatch feature by calling an IdentityForce representative and inquiring about Family Plan options. This monitors the personal identifying information of your children and alerts you if anyone uses that information to open a line of credit or otherwise engage in fraudulent activity. Identity fraud using children’s information is becoming increasingly prevalent, so this is an important feature to consider using.

Should you choose IdentityForce UltraSecure+Credit?

IdentityForce UltraSecure+Credit is truly one of the top identity theft services you can opt for. It’s easy to get lost in the resources and tools available in the customer dashboard, and you’ll learn a little something about privacy and personal finance along the way.

If you want to save a few buchs, ID Watchdog is slightly cheaper. Just don't expect to have quite so many features included for the price.

Although learning how to efficiently navigate the dashboard and all the tools and resources can take some time, especially if you are not familiar with ID theft protection, signing up for IdentityForce UltraSecure+Credit is worth the investment. In doing so, remember that even the best identity theft protection services can’t fully protect your information and credit, but having the best alert system at your fingertips will help mitigate the negative impact of a data breach.
