It offers a respectable package, but there are no features that make myhosting stand out. This small business web host's greatest strength is in its software add-ons, especially the site builders. Choices include Expression Web 3, Site Builder and goMobi Mobile Website Builder, which builds mobile-compatible content. If you are not proficient with HTML, the software selection is especially beneficial. If you are well-versed in HTML, you might be better off with a less-limited web hosting service.

Allotting only three MySQL databases to each user, myhosting suffers from a limited hosting package. Granted, you might not need them – simple websites usually don't. Unfortunately, sites of moderate complexity usually do need database power, and three is not a big number. There is little room for flexibility, as there is only one shared hosting plan. In order to grow your feature set, you have to pay a far higher price to get VPS hosting.

In previous tests, there have been issues with myhosting's support staff. However, it has improved significantly in the past year. On every occasion, we waited no more than two minutes for initial contact, and there weren't long pauses between responses.

Myhosting doesn't support Secure Shell data transfer, which may present a security hole. This is a gaping oversight – almost all the competition offers SSH. It does, however, offer .htaccess support and anonymous FTP, which are not as common. Other compensating benefits include unlimited FTP accounts and cron jobs.

With myhosting, you are entitled to use its SEO service and mailing lists to market your website. It also gives you the option to submit your site to search engines through various submission services. These features can help to boost your traffic when you first start out, but don't expect any freebies – long-term traffic will require an investment of time and money.

The email features, the Google Spam and Anti-Virus filter, are nice security considerations that keep your inbox looking clean. It also includes HackerWise Monitoring and Scanning to make sure that no viruses squirm their way into your content, which protects both you and your users.

myhosting offers good marketing benefits to new users, including SEO assistance and mailing lists. Aside from that, there isn't much to see. It is a decent web hosting service and will get the job done, just like its many competitors. None of the weaknesses are so serious that they compromise the overall quality of the service.
