Diet Pro is uncomplicated nutrition software designed to track the healthy food you eat and your calorie intake. The conversational feedback is a pleasant experience. Diet Pro does not have many of the features that are standard in most nutrition software applications, especially when it comes to exercise functions. Aside from this, Diet Pro includes food related features that help you plan meals, create menus, track weight and chart diet progress. A particularly helpful set of features also helps you create shopping lists, print recipes and publish cookbooks. You can also export, import and email recipes.
The software includes a built-in recipe manager that contains over 700 recipes, each of which can be modified, and it also permits you to add new family recipes. If you have a favorite recipe, you can add it to a list of frequently used recipes. Track your fitness with features that let you input your blood pressure, body measurements and heart rate. Once Diet Pro has this information, it will show you graphs and reports to chart your progress. The variety of commercial diets supported by Diet Pro includes Atkins, Zone, Body for Life, South Beach and other diets.
Sadly, Diet Pro has no database to support an exercise log. Without this database, it becomes very difficult to determine the relationship between your physical activity and caloric burn rate. Other features that are not present in Diet Pro include a weight calculator and tools for body composition.
Diet Pro is a calorie counter that has helpful prompts to accomplish your tasks. Diary-like entries remind you of your goals and contribute a friendly feeling to the program. Unfortunately, Diet Pro does not use automated functions as well as other programs; you'll be doing most of the work yourself. Dieting is hard, but your software shouldn't make it harder. Diet Pro has indexed help and over 30 online tutorials. The manufacturer also offers how-to guides, FAQs (frequently asked questions) and a community forum online.
Diet Pro's feedback makes you feel good about your progress. Screens are limited to one piece of information unlike other programs offering a summary view of your program. Furthermore, Diet Pro lacks an exercise module, so you'll have to be content with a separate diary devoted to your physical activity. If you want good nutrition features without exercise features, Diet Pro is an excellent choice to consider.
