Pros / The user interface is intuitive and very easy to navigate.

Cons / You can't use this program to burn or back up copy-protected Blu-ray movies.

Verdict / Power2Go's Blu-ray features are good as far as they go, but the multimedia package, which allows you to create CDs, DVD, and more, is this product's biggest selling point.

Editor's Note: CyberLink Power2Go 11 Deluxe is now available. Clicking the Buy button will take you to this version for purchase. The manufacturer lists the new version as offering the following features: mount and search ISO discs and automatically resize video files to highest supported quality. We will evaluate, rank and review Power2Go 11 Deluxe when we next update the Blu-ray Burning Software reviews. Meanwhile, enjoy our review below about the CyberLink Power2Go 10 Platinum.

CyberLink Power2Go 10 is an optical disc-utility application that gives you the ability to burn new copies your Blu-ray movies. Its user-friendly interface makes the application accessible to anyone, regardless of their computer skill level. In our tests, it rendered perfect copies of original Blu-rays. However, this application lacks the decryption and compression tools that we look for in this category, and, as such, it ranks in the middling portion of our review of the best Blu-ray burning software.

The program's interface is one of the most intuitive of all the Blu-ray burning software we reviewed. The window of the interface presents a full array of disc-burning and other multimedia tools, which you can use to create data discs, audio CDs, convert media, back up your information online and more. If you decide to buy this application, it should be for the whole package, which is far more useful than its Blu-ray burning capabilities.

To burn a new copy of a Blu-ray disc, simply select the "Copy Disc" tab from the main window. This drops down a submenu with three options: "Copy Disc," "Save Disc Image," and "Burn Disc Image."

When you select the copy disc option, the software performs a disc-to-disc copy, which means the program scans the disc's image (ISO file), saves it to your computer, then burns it to the new blank disc. Depending on your system specifications and the size of the Blu-ray files, this process can take several hours, which is typical with the Blu-ray burner software we reviewed.

The save disc option allows you to extract the Blu-ray’s ISO file and save it onto your hard drive. This is great for archiving all of the Blu-ray discs you've paid for. However, because commercial Blu-rays are so large, you'll have to invest in a high-capacity external hard drive if you want to back up your entire Blu-ray collection. You can also use ISO files as virtual Blu-ray discs and watch them in the software application at any time.

The final option, "Burn Disc Image," allows you to burn a disc image from your hard drive onto a blank Blu-ray disc. In our tests, it took Power2Go 44 minutes to burn a feature-length Blu-ray movie from an extracted ISO file. This was average among the Blu-ray burner programs on our lineup.

The biggest downside to Power2Go is that it can't scan and copy commercial Blu-ray movies protected by anti-piracy encryptions. This limits the application's abilities to homemade and unprotected discs. You can't back up your Hollywood movies with this software. The products in the top tier of our review all allow you to make personal copies of the movies you've paid for.
