If you’re stuck at home and pondering the big questions like "who am I" and "where did I come from", then Ancestry.com has the answer to your questions with its Summer Sale. Ancestry is one of the best genealogy sites out there, offering a range of services all centered around using your genetic profile, producing some of the best DNA testing kits.

One of the most popular options on Ancestry is AncestryDNA, which looks at your DNA to help you find out about your ancestors origins and ethnicity. By looking at your genetic makeup, Ancestry is able to give an estimate on what % of your DNA belongs to certain ethnicities and locations.

Taking this test might help you unveil hidden secrets about your family history that you didn’t know. Maybe you’re part Irish, or Finnish, or Italian? Well now you can find out, and at a bargain price thanks to the Summer Sale. During the Ancestry Summer Sale you can buy an AncestryDNA kit for $59 plus tax and shipping - that’s a saving of $40 on the usual sale price of $99.

If you’re more concerned about your health at the moment (and let’s face it, who isn’t?) then you can also check out AncestryHealth, which is also currently on sale. AncestryHealth uses the same DNA testing principle, but focuses on your susceptibility to certain health conditions and diseases based on your family genetics. Right now you can pick up an AncestryHealth kit for $119 plus tax and shipping, down from $179 - that’s a saving of $60.

AncestryHealth gives you a personalized health report which shows your genetic predisposition to a range of diseases and illnesses including various breast and ovarian cancer, cystic fibrosis, and cardiomyopathy. It also showcases other potential risks like inherited high cholesterol, iron overload, and digestive issues.

It’s important to note that while Ancestryhealth is a valuable resource, it is not a replacement for medical checkups and you should always visit a doctor or other relevant medical professional if you have concerns about your health. AncestryHealth is there to help you head off potential health risks down the line, not diagnose them.

The Ancestry Summer Sale starts today and runs through until 11:59pm BST on Sunday, August 9th, so you don't have long to dive in on this deal. We were big fans of Ancestry, as you can see in our Ancestry.com review, thanks to its huge database of historical records and detailed results.

The Summer Sale isn’t the only news that Ancestry has to share today though, it was also revealed that the company is being bought by private equity group Blackstone (Credit: Reuters). This deal shouldn’t have any real effect on consumers, but it’s a show of confidence in the business if a major equity group is investing.
