Aurora Blu-ray Copy earned a spot in our review of the best Blu-ray copy software – but just barely. It's a simple program with a simple interface. It also makes exact copies of Blu-ray movies faster than any other program we reviewed. However, some technical glitches combined with the lack of customization and compression tools left it at the bottom of our side-by-side comparison chart.

This program makes it easy enough to copy your Blu-ray movies to a new disc. All you have to do is load the Blu-ray you want to copy into the "Source" field of the program. From there, you can select your Blu-ray burner from the "Destination" field. Then all you have to do is hit "Start."

If you're preforming a disc-to-disc copy, it can take several hours to complete the process. That's because this program must extract the Blu-ray's disc image (ISO file), save it to your computer and then burn it to the new disc. If you want to make multiple copies of your Blu-ray movies, we recommend saving the disc image to your computer and making new copies from that.

Aurora Blu-ray Copy created new Blu-ray discs faster than any other program we reviewed. On average, the products on our lineup took about 45 minutes to make a new copy of a Blu-ray from an extracted disc image. Aurora Blu-ray Copy only took 13 minutes to do the perform task. It's lightning-fast burning speeds are what earned it a spot in our top 10 best Blu-ray copy programs.

With that quick of a burn time, it's natural to expect some quality loss in the new disc. But this is not the case with Aurora Blu-ray Copy. When our video experts watched the newly copied test disc, they could not detect any flaws or quality degradation. The copy is perfect – indistinguishable from the original.

The reason it ranks at the bottom of our side-by-side comparison chart is because it leaves out nearly everything else we look for in the best Blu-ray copy software. It has no ability to compress Blu-ray movies to fit onto smaller capacity blank discs or create custom discs.

Aurora Blu-ray Copy is a very attractive application because of its straightforward interface and fast burning times. It works well if all you want to do is make rote copies of Blu-ray discs. However, if you need customization and compression options, this program isn't the one you want.
