The Blu-ray creator software application from ImTOO is the best Blu-ray tool we found for making Blu-ray to Blu-ray copies of any high-definition movies you own, if you have hours to spend on the project. The software has professional video-editing tools, so you can do more than make copies. You can make copies tailored to your needs, such as short clips with intense color saturation or whole chapters with subtitles in a second language.

Once you have paid for Blu-ray discs, it makes sense to preserve those copies in pristine condition. ImTOO Blu-ray Creator can help you do just that. You can use it to back up your Blu-ray discs as full 1:1 copies that include all of the menus, advertisements and special features on the original disc. Alternatively, you can create movie-only backup Blu-rays or movie-and-menu-only discs.

Among the best features of ImTOO Blu-ray Creator is its ability to rip and decrypt Blu-ray files without help from a third-party plugin. Instead, the application does all the decryption work in the background. It can decrypt discs from multiple manufacturers. You can even make exact copies of video game discs with this software application.

The next level of ImTOO Blu-ray Creator's functionality has to do with converting Blu-ray files (MT2S) to more common movie-file formats. The application has better options than almost any other product we tested, including DivX, WMV and MP4. We also loved how the application's main window displays how much of your PC's processing power it is using.

This Blu-ray burning software leaves room for improvement in one important area, and that is its copying and burning speed. Of all the Blu-ray copy software we tested, ImTOO's offering took the longest to copy a full-length Blu-ray movie.

ImTOO Blu-ray Creator is more complicated to use than its competitors' software. When you first open the application, you see a typical grayscale window with a standard menu bar. From there, you choose a profile for ripping and burning. That profile includes the file name of your copy, its video size, the video and audio quality, and subtitle insertion. More advanced controls are also available.

Choosing the right files to download is where the process gets confusing for amateur users. If you want to copy the whole disc, you check all the file boxes. If not, you must manually select the files to be burned. Ripping your Blu-ray files directly to your hard drive before committing them to a blank Blu-ray disc alleviates this confusion.

Once you have selected the right files, you can begin editing the video by navigating to a new window that includes options for brightness, saturation and other elements. We loved the functionality of this application, but using it effectively requires patience. For example, the first files we tried to edit came out choppy and garbled, although those same files played perfectly later. A similar situation occurred with the audio track. In both cases, we did not discover what had caused the problem.

With ImTOO Blu-ray Creator, you can copy your Blu-ray collection to blank Blu-ray discs, DVDs and your hard drive. The picture quality of your backup discs is very good. However, movement that is far away from the video's focal point is a little choppy in copied versions. This problem is slightly exacerbated in low-light shots, but the application's video-editing capabilities give you control over the brightness, color saturation and contrast of your copies so that you can solve problems with the picture quality fairly easily.

If you have trouble with the program, you can search the company's FAQs page for a solution to the problem. You also get a guide to the software to walk you through some of the basic processes systematically. You can email the company if you have further questions or concerns.

With its robust feature set and multiple file-conversion options, ImTOO Blu-ray Creator 2 is an exceptional Blu-ray to Blu-ray copy application. However, using the software can be tricky. This product is best if you want to make Blu-ray backup copies from a large collection of Blu-ray discs or edit the movies you create, whether you shoot those movies with a mobile phone's video camera or alter professionally produced films.
