Our number-nine product is Ainsoft Blu-Ray DVD Copy, bare-bones Blu-ray to DVD converter software that appears more robust and versatile than it actually is. That software has a sleek, simple interface but boasts limited functionality and on the whole insufficient customer support.
To start with what we liked about the software, it has built-in decryption that allows users to circumvent the copy protections and region codes found on commercial Blu-ray discs (BD). We were surprised to find such an important and sought-after feature given how simplistic the software is overall. A few other unexpected features include multi-language support for audio and elective subtitles and the ability to adjust output parameters and video effects. Other than those common functionalities, the application offers very little in the way of additional features that enable you to customize your output DVD. We were surprised to find the software doesn't even have a preview window.
The quality of the software's converted video was definitely adequate as well. When compared to our top applications, there is a perceptible loss of quality though it was relatively minor. Moreover, we detected the slightest disparity between the audio and picture during one of our test runs; however, the issue was not apparent during any subsequent runs. However, we were impressed with the software's rather fast conversion speed, which was more on par with our top three software products.
Despite the Blu-ray to DVD converter software's lack of functionality, the obvious weakness unexpectedly gives way to an incidental strength: easy navigation. The ability to convert Blu-ray discs to DVDs is something that all computer users, regardless of their level of technical ability, will be able to do quickly and easily with Ainsoft Blu-Ray DVD Copy. The interface is ultra simple (though advanced users will likely be bored) and we were pleased to find we didn't have one navigation or usability issue from start to finish. The design is modern and sleek, with a bright color scheme that's visually aesthetic without feeling too flashy. That being said, we aren't sure how many beginner and intermediate users will really appreciate or care for the contemporary design.
Other Blu-ray to DVD Converter Software reviews
The Ainsoft website is completely devoid of effective technical support. We scoured the manufacturer's site to find any supplementary support to the software but disappointingly came up empty-handed. There is not a user guide for the Blu-ray DVD Copy software nor is there a section of frequently asked questions, which would be a major benefit to the site. In fact, anything additional to the site would greatly benefit the site and be a vast improvement over what is currently there. In keeping with such insufficiency, the site also lists just one email address under contact information, which you have to inconveniently navigate from the sitemap.
Throughout our testing we ascertained that Ainsoft Blu-ray DVD Copy is a mediocre and scanty Blu-ray to DVD converter application that does not offer any useful extras and falls short of comparable software. Although its interface is polished and easy to use, its short-of-perfect output quality and vacant technical support fails to position it as a top contender among Blu-ray to DVD converter software. Whether you're seeking a comprehensive editing suite or the highest quality output possible, we'd recommend checking out our higher-ranked products.
