Ticketmaster is a well-known and reputable source for almost all ticketed events. As a primary ticket broker, Ticketmaster has initial access to tickets directly from the venue. This exclusive initial access to concert tickets is one of its best features, but it comes with some unique issues. It can sell out quickly, sometimes even minutes after the event's tickets go up for sale. It also doesn’t have a flat service fee, as it negotiates them individually with the entertainers and venues. Nonetheless, it is the only online concert service we reviewed that gives buyers access to tickets at face value.
You can have paper tickets delivered to you or have Ticketmaster email you electronic versions you can print yourself. If you'd rather pick up the tickets, the service not only has will-call options at the venue, but it also allows you to pick up your tickets at participating stores. None of the secondary brokers, such as StubHub and Vivid Seats, offer as wide a variety of pickup options because, in that case, tickets are being transferred directly from the seller to a buyer.
Ticketmaster’s mobile app is easy to use and allows you to buy same-day tickets to events. You can also use the app to transfer tickets to other people who may be arriving at a different time than you. The app can be used to sell tickets, but Ticketmaster’s selling options are restricted to only certain concerts, and the tickets cannot have been bought from any other service.
One unique support feature is Ticketmaster’s three-day return policy. It is available for most concerts and allows you to return your tickets for a full refund within three days of purchase as long as the concert is more than a week away. This is the only service we reviewed that allows you to return tickets for reasons other than cancellation or fraud.
More on Tickets
With Ticketmaster, you are buying tickets directly from the source, so you don’t have to worry about the integrity of third-party ticket brokers or other resellers. The site is secure and the purchase section encrypted, so you can feel safe using your credit card.
Ticketmaster has the best ticket prices and some of the lowest service fees we encountered during testing. The site is easy to navigate, and the mobile app is a good companion that eliminates the need to carry a physical ticket to most events. If the concert you want to attend isn’t sold out, we recommend using this service as a guide to compare prices and look for seats.
