Pros / Bouquets come prearranged with a vase.
Cons / Flower quality can vary by local vendor.
Verdict / Teleflora is one of our top choices because you can customize arrangements and the locally sourced bouquet we bought came looking luscious and healthy.
Teleflora sent us a beautifully arranged bouquet and offers a wide range of flowers and gifts. It’s a great online flower delivery service for finding the perfect floral gift for a family member, friend or special someone. You can even search the website by flower type, holiday, or even flower color, making shopping really easy and fast.
The company outsources the creation of their bouquets to local florists. We ordered the My True Love Bouquet with Long Stemmed Roses, which was delivered already arranged and on time. The 12 red roses in the bouquet were large, lush and partially open, surrounded by healthy-looking flat-leaved greenery.
Since it was already arranged, it looked better displayed than the bouquets we had to unbox and set up ourselves because, if we’re being honest, we’re not even close to being professional florists. The clear glass vase it came in had a satin red ribbon tied around it, which was a nice touch that complemented the color of the roses. The one downside to this bouquet was that, like every prearranged bouquet we got, it didn’t come with any extra plant food.
In our tests, we had 11 people from our office go through and rate how each bouquet looked and smelled. This meant spending time with each arrangement noting whether the petals or leaves were damaged, how open they were and whether their color was vibrant and healthy. Reviewers also noted whether the roses were worth the cost and if they would recommend buying flowers from that company. Teleflora received the highest scores by far with people noting the bouquet’s faint but fresh smell, undamaged petals and leaves, and just the right balance of extra foliage. The one thing that disappointed us was their vase life: The roses only lasted for about six days, making them among first to wilt. Some of the other flowers we observed lasted a full 11 days.
The website lets you customize your order, choosing between standard, deluxe and premium bouquets. There are a wide variety of flowers to choose from as well, ranging from traditional roses to mixtures of daisies, carnations and lilies, and even a flower-covered cake. While the bouquet we received was ranked highly by our reviewers, you should keep in mind arrangements that are outsourced to local florists often don’t arrive exactly as they look online. The company Teleflora used when they shipped to our lab was also used by Flower.com, so we ultimately received two identical bouquets. The reason Flower.com isn’t near the top of our lineup is because of our lab staff’s experience with customer service when there was a mix-up with the two bouquets. There was also a price difference, despite the two arrangements being exactly the same.
Teleflora also lets you add extras like a stuffed teddy bear, chocolates or balloons right on the order page. For Valentine’s Day the company offers a multitude of different red and pink arrangements and vases to suit the tastes of your significant other. The Hugs and Kisses Bouquet with Red Roses includes large pink carnations and white daisies, and the Swirling Desire Bouquet features predominately red flowers while pink lilies provide an accent color against greenery. You can shop by color or flower type, or simply check out the “deal of the day” if you’re totally unsure what kind of flowers to go with. With a midrange price and great customer service, including a confirmation email when your flowers arrive, Teleflora is a great place to shop.
