The Braun Series 3 ProSkin 3050cc delivers a grooming experience that you can rely on, and is made by one of the world's best electric razors brand's. Its shaving head features two outer foils, along with a center cutting comb that's designed to lift and cut uneven whiskers. And the Series 3 is especially suitable for people with sensitive skin, as it doesn’t cause irritation. Indeed, its blades automatically retract if you apply too much pressure while shaving. They also have a patented SensoFoil design to protect your skin from the cutting elements.

The trade-off of this technology is that the Braun Series 3 works best on fine facial hair. Users with coarser whiskers may find that it leaves some stubble behind, especially under the nose and bottom lip, and in the neck area.

Braun Series 3 ProSkin 3050cc: Design

The Braun Series 3 ProSkin 3050cc is easy on the eye, sporting a tastefully subtle grey and black colour combination that contrasts nicely with the fluorescent green of the LED display. As with all shavers in the Braun series, the Series 3 sports comfortable, easy-grip handles that make it easy to wield while grooming.

Braun Series 3 ProSkin 3050cc: Features

The Braun Series 3’s battery provides 45 minutes of shaving on a full charge – the equivalent of 15 three-minute shaves. An LED display lets you know when the battery is low. If the battery is depleted and you don’t have an hour for a full charge, it has a five-minute quick-charge function to give you enough power for one shave. For comparison, the Wahl LifeProof 7061-100 has a 90-minute battery life with a one-minute quick-charge feature.

While many razors have pop-up trimmers, the Braun’s is mounted on the unit. Braun’s later-generation models – the Series 5, Series 7 and Series 9 – have more streamlined trimmers, but they are also smaller. Unlike the Series 3, those razors also have pivoting heads to make them easier to maneuver. This improvement helps them shave closer and with more precision.

The Braun Series 3 lets you shave both wet and dry, and is washable under running water. It comes with a dual-purpose cleaning and charging station that uses a proprietary alcohol-based solution to clean and lubricate the shaver, and also includes an AC adapter, a cleaning brush and a protective foil cap.

This shaver is missing several features that other manufacturers include, such as a travel lock and a storage/travel pouch. Its two-year manufacturer’s warranty is typical (though falls somewhat short of the five years you get with the Wahl LifeProof). If you need customer service, you can reach Braun by phone and live chat. There’s also an online self-service tool.

Should you buy the Braun Series 3 ProSkin 3050cc?

If you’re looking for a smooth shave with results comparable to those you can get with a manual razor, we recommend you take a look at the Panasonic Arc4 ES-LA93-K or the Braun Series 7 790cc-4

Both razors, however, are priced much higher than the Braun Series 3, which has an MSRP of $99.99. The Arc4 has an MSRP of $169.99, and the Braun Series 7 is priced at $229.99. However, you can often find razors listed below MSRP if you shop around.
