Our Verdict

There are definitely better products available that provide more in-depth options.

For

  • The tools that are offered work well but they are in short supply compated to other programs.

Against

  • There is no way to edit 3D objects and the features library doesn't have as much to offer.

3D Home Architect Landscape Deluxe Suite, from Encore, is similar to Punch! Software's Landscape Deck & Patio Designer. It's made by Punch, and re-branded by Encore. It's a basic program that will allow you to create basic designs through Landscaping Software.

Being a basic version of Punch! Software's more powerful landscaping software, this product is easy to use. There are large icons that clearly illustrate what type of object they represent, and quickly creating a landscape is definitely possible. It won't be too fancy, but you will get the job done.

It is a simple software, but it is not the easiest to use. For the most part, it was straight forward on how to use the tools, but it was a different story when trying to get the deck or pathways to look just how we wanted. It was completely capable for accomplishing design. With this software, you design in 2D and observe in 3D. We would have liked to click and move objects through the 3D view, not 2D only.

This software has many of the same features as Punch!'s Landscape Deck & Patio Designer, but they're not as in-depth. The plant and other object libraries don't have as many stock objects included, and there's no way to edit 3D objects.

The tools provided allow you to create a descent design, but we found it difficult to get it to looks exactly how we wanted. For example, the roof does not automatically fit the walls of the home, it must be separately designed to fit.

3D Home Architect Home & Landscape Deluxe Suite had a lot of great tools for home designing, but we found it not to compare real well with the other landscaping software that we reviewed.

Spend a little more money and you'll get a lot more functionality. 3D Home Architect Home & Landscape Deluxe Suite is a good product, but there is much better. Consider our other Landscaping Software for more advanced features and designs.
