PC Spy, from PAL, receives a fair rating. The product is easy and fast to install. The product lacks many of the features that the other monitoring programs have as standard features. Even though there are not a lot of features, the ones that are present are not the easiest to figure out.

PC Spy's reporting is nothing more than "Notepad" displaying a text file. The product does monitor keystrokes and captured screen shots, but that is all. The log file names, which the user sees, are extremely cryptic. After studying the log files for a while, you can determine they are made up of date and time, but the interface is extremely poor compared to all of the other products.

PC Spy does have a banned URL list. This means that if someone is trying to go to a website that has been specifically banned, the browser is shutdown, but there is no warning or notice of what happened.

Even though there are not a lot of features, the ones that are present are not the easiest to figure out.

Overall, PC Spy needs a lot of work to be able to compete against the other spyware/monitoring software in the marketplace.
