CyberLink MediaShow is especially good for anyone who likes to organize and categorize their photos before making slideshow projects. This slideshow software is relatively easy to use, so you can create a professional and custom slideshow in short order. It comes with transition effects and photo editing capabilities in addition to exceptional output options, and it helps you tag and categorize your images and videos.
This application features 31 transition effects, and you can add an audio track to give your presentations an entertaining touch. The software automatically adjusts the length of the audio clip to match the length of the slideshow, or you can set the music to loop. Unfortunately, it doesn’t offer voice recording capabilities, so if you want to add narration to your projects you’ll have to use another program, like Photostory Easy. In addition to helping you create slideshows, this software helps you make movies, screen savers and backgrounds, or you can use it to print your images.
While testing, we discovered that this was one of the only programs that wouldn’t allow you to edit your photos once they had been inserted into a slideshow. To save yourself some time, be sure to make photo edits when you first import your images. The editing tools allow you to make basic photo adjustments by manually changing settings, or you can use the automatic adjustment buttons or batch processing if you want fast results. It also comes with a handful of filters so you can add a sepia or antique black and white look to your images.
During testing, we realized that this software had a lot more photo organizing capabilities than other programs. It offers FaceMe, a face recognition tool, which helps identify and tag specific people in your photo collection so you can search for them easier. You can also tag your photos with keywords, locations, calendar dates and categories, or you can give them star ratings, making it easier to organize and find the photos you want.
CyberLink MediaShow can import images from your computer or directly from Facebook. It can import several common file types, including DV-AVI, MPEG1, MPEG2, DVR-MS and WMV video files, and can also export MPEG2 and WMV files. You also can publish to smartphones. If you’d prefer to give your slideshows out as tangible gifts, you can burn DVDs and Blu-ray discs. The software even gives you a handful of themed movie menu designs to fit your slideshow.
The CyberLink website provides FAQs, free software updates and email support. The company also offers telephone support. But unlike most slideshow software publishers, CyberLink charges for phone support.
CyberLink MediaShow is a user-friendly product in many respects. With features like face recognition and calendar tools, you’ll be able to find and organize your photos easily. This software has enough features to make your slideshows look well done without putting in endless hours of effort.
