The Kenmore Elite Digital Countertop Convection Oven 125099 is an effective toaster oven. Using the bake, convection bake and broil features, you can adjust it between 150 and 450 degrees Fahrenheit. When testing the performance of this oven, we found that it preheats fairly quickly, taking about seven minutes to reach 350 degrees. However, the toaster oven measured consistently cooler than what we set its temperature to be.
This six-slice toaster oven only has one rack; however, you can fit a 12-inch pizza on it. The rack is adjustable for different foods, and labels indicate where you should put the rack for certain cooking functions. You can adjust the cooking functions, time and temperature using the toaster's two dials, and the digital display shows each of those on its screen.
This toaster oven has six cooking functions: bake, broil, toast, bagel, pizza and warm. You can also use the convection fan to decrease preheat and cook times.
When cooking with this convection toaster oven, we took the temperature of its exterior to evaluate how safe it is. The top and sides of the oven remained less than 90 degrees Fahrenheit, and the handle only reached 88 degrees, so it's one of the safer toaster ovens to use around children and in tight spaces. The interior retains heat well, making it safer and more effective than some other toaster ovens on our site. However, the oven lacks automatic shut-off and rack ejection, which would make it even safer to use, because you wouldn't have to worry about forgetting to turn it off or reaching inside to remove the rack.
This stainless steel toaster oven is easy to use. It has several convenience features, including a nonstick interior that makes cleanup quick, adjustable racks, a bake pan and pizza pan, and a long-running timer. The timer runs for two hours, so you can cook foods that have long bake times without having to restart the timer.
Other Toaster Ovens reviews
This compact toaster oven takes up little room on your counter; however, it weighs over 20 pounds. Like other toaster ovens of its size, this model uses 1,800 watts when operating. In other words, it's not the most energy-efficient oven, but with the convection fan, it cooks food quickly and thoroughly. Kenmore warrants this small toaster oven for up to two years after the purchase date, which is much better than the typical one-year warranty.
The Kenmore Elite Digital Countertop Convection Oven has six different cooking functions and several convenience features that make it easy to use. While this toaster lacks some safety features, it maintains its heat well inside and doesn't transfer that heat to its surfaces.
