Credit Sesame is a relatively new service that offers credit monitoring at a variety of levels. We looked at the Platinum Protection Plan that costs $19.95 and includes monthly access to your three-bureau credit reports in addition to identity monitoring features.
PrivacyGuard is an identity protection service that includes credit monitoring. A membership costs $19.99 a month. This cost is about average, though TransUnion and Credit Karma are both more affordable options.
Experian is one of the three credit bureaus that monitor, track and generate credit reports. You can purchase reports directly through the bureau. It also offers a service called IdentityWorks that is available in two versions: Plus and Premium. Both have free trials for the first month.
FICO scores are the most commonly used scores when lenders are making decisions. There are other scoring models that lenders use, but FICO tends to be the most standard. So using myFICO gives you a firsthand look at what your lenders are seeing.
TransUnion is one of the three primary credit bureaus. It offers its own credit monitoring service for a monthly cost of $9.99. One of the drawbacks is that it only monitors your TransUnion score and report and doesn’t offer a complete look at your three-bureau reports.
