Olivia Bevan

After graduating from Durham University in 2020, Olivia Bevan studied Modern Languages & Cultures, focusing on French and German. She had the amazing opportunity to spend a year abroad during her four-year course, living in Heidelberg for six months and Strasbourg for five months in 2019. It was one of the best experiences of her life. Her passion for languages began in primary school, and now she can speak French and German, though not entirely fluently. She plans to continue learning and hopefully visit both countries more. In the meantime, she relies on Duolingo to stay sharp. During her university years, she wrote reviews of student theatre pieces for various university publications and contributed to a digital magazine voluntarily during the pandemic. This period allowed her to discover her love for writing reviews, as she enjoys creating content that can be helpful and informative for readers. She continued this at Top Ten Reviews, writing user-friendly product reviews to assist everyday buyers in making informed choices. Art and culture have always fascinated her, especially fashion, music, art, and cinema—basically anything related to 'pop culture'! As a huge cinema lover, she spends her free time watching films at home and in movie theaters, with a bag of mixed sweet and salty popcorn by her side. Her taste in movies is quite varied, ranging from superhero flicks like The Dark Knight and Watchmen to horror classics (she's a big fan of the Evil Dead franchise—the second one is the best!). She's also a devoted cat lover and dreams of owning a fluffy Ragdoll or Maine Coon cat someday. She's also passionate about beauty, and you'll rarely find her without her lipstick, as she usually carries around at least five different shades in her handbag at any given time.
