Graduating from Durham University in 2020, Olivia studied Modern Languages & Cultures, specifically French and German, where she had the opportunity to do a year abroad as part of her four year course. This saw her living in Heidelberg for six months, then Strasbourg for five months back in 2019, which has definitely been one of the best experiences of her life so far. As a result of her life-long passion for languages which started in primary school, Olivia can speak French and German, although not entirely fluently. She hopes to continue learning both and hopefully visit both countries more in the future. In the meantime, Duolingo will have to do.
Whilst at university, Olivia wrote reviews of student theatre pieces for various university publications, as well as writing on a voluntary basis for a digital magazine during the pandemic. It was during this time that she discovered her love of writing reviews, mainly for the reason that she enjoys creating content that could be helpful and informative for other readers. She hopes to continue this at Top Ten Reviews, writing user-friendly product reviews to help the savvy everyday buyer!
Olivia has always been interested by arts and culture, namely: fashion, music, art and cinema - anything and everything 'pop culture'! A huge lover of cinema, she likes to spend her free time watching films at home and in the movie theatre, where her snack of choice is mixed sweet and salty popcorn. Her tastes are varied, enjoying anything from superhero movies (The Dark Knight! Watchmen!) to horror movies (big Evil Dead franchise fan - the second one is the best!) She also loves cats and hopes one day to be the owner of a Ragdoll or Maine Coon cat - the fluffier the better!
Olivia is also a huge lover of all things beauty and is rarely ever without her lipstick, often carrying at least five different shades in her handbag at any given time. To quote drag legend RuPaul Charles: "If you stay ready, you don't have to get ready."
