The Micca Natural View digital photo frame is a simple way to share a large collection of memories in a compact space. This digital frame compared well to others in our review in terms of photo reproduction quality, though the photos looked slightly darker than the ones we got with others. The way this model reproduces photos seems to include adding more shadows and dark blue hues than its competitors do, but the final effect is good.
This is one of the best digital photo frames for your grandma or anyone else who is not enthused about technology. You can just plug in an SD card or USB jump drive and start looking at photos in seconds. You get a lot of control over the slideshow with this electronic photo frame – you can designate three seconds between slides or up to 15 minutes, and you have 10 different transition options.
It is strange to have no internal storage on a digital picture frame at this price point. That is not a total deal-breaker, but it seems logical to have at least a small permanent collection on a frame you invest in at this level. If having internal storage is important for you, a better frame for your needs might be the 4GB memory in the Sungale Cloud Frame.
If your SD card is organized the way you like or you prefer to organize photos on your computer and then put them on a jump drive, the Micca Natural View is just fine.
The base on this frame is somewhat bulky, and this prevents it from being a good option for wall display, but it looks good on a desk. You can enjoy your photos from across the room with the included remote control. There is no motion sensor, but you can set a timer and have the frame power itself down at night or at other designated times for energy savings.
Micca's customer service is noticeably weak compared to other digital frame makers. There are few ways to contact representatives, and we had some questions about this frame's warranty after reading the manufacturer's website and using the product.
- Photo Quality
- Internal Memory
- Number of Transitions
If the Micca Natural View had internal storage and a little better customer support, it would be practically perfect. It's still pretty competitive as it is, though. The photo reproduction is quite nice, even if it is a little darker than the photos from some of the others.
