Pros / The Mio Fuse tracks your steps taken, distance traveled and calories burned in addition to your heart rate.

Cons / To track your heart rate closely, you need to turn on the heart rate mode, as it’s not continuously recorded.

Verdict / The Mio Fuse is a well-rounded heart rate monitor with wrist-based technology, a scrolling screen and helpful tracking features.

With such a large screen, it’ll be hard to miss you heart rate on the Mio Fuse. LED lights display all your information clearly on the scrolling screen and help you easily track your workouts with this heart rate monitor watch.

The large screen on the Mio Fuse is actually group of LED lights that form messages alerting you to the time as well as your heart rate, steps taken, distance traveled and more. Small buttons on either side of the screen allow you to scroll through different metrics, and a third discreet button at the top prompts you to hold for heart rate mode. The screen on the Fuse was one of the easiest to read during our testing and was perfect for indoor and outdoor workouts.

We found the Fuse to be 93 percent accurate at reading heart beats. While this is a bit lower than its competitors, anything over 90 percent is acceptable if you’re training in heart rate zones. This heart rate watch also tracks metrics such as average heart rate, pace, speed, steps, distance, calories burned, active minutes and more. It’s an all-in-one machine when it comes to tracking your workouts. However, the battery life only lasts six to seven days, less if you leave heart rate monitoring on continuously.

This wrist heart rate monitor is extremely comfortable and fits a wide variety of wrists. Even when you sweat, the band doesn’t slide or cause irritation. Since it’s a wrist-based device, it is more comfortable than one that uses a chest strap. The Fuse is available in four different colors to match your favorite workout clothes, and it is water resistant up to 3 ATM, or 30 meters. Be careful about taking your heart rate monitor in the pool, as we recommend at least a 5-ATM rating if you are planning to submerge it in water.

In addition to viewing them on the screen, you can see all of your charts and data via the Mio Global app or the Mio Pai app. Since the Fuse is a Bluetooth heart rate monitor, it connects easily to either Mio app so you can quickly sync your data or view your heart rate in real time.

The Mio Fuse is a nice blend of a heart rate monitor and fitness tracker. It’s extremely comfortable to wear, and while the accuracy score doesn’t make it a top competitor, it’s still a great choice if you’re looking to improve your workout intensity.
