An interiors journalist for more than 20 years, Linda Clayton has worked on a wide array of consumer titles, including Homes & Gardens, Livingetc, Country Homes & Interiors and Real Homes.

She graduated from Cardiff University with a First Class Journalism, Film and Broadcasting degree and Postgraduate Diploma in Magazine Journalism.

Now working from her home in Devon–her fourth major DIY renovation project–Linda writes on a wide range of subjects, including product reviews, designer interviews and case studies. She can also be found pounding the pavements and exhibition halls of London, Paris, Cologne and Milan in search of the latest trends and innovations during Design Festivals.

She shares her home with her husband Nick, a cabinetmaker, and their two daughters, two dogs, one pony and recently widowed budgie, Rocky. Her hobbies include running, renovating, pony-bothering and cooking overly-complicated meals that her family won’t eat.

She is a minimalist at heart - cluttered spaces make her anxious. Her home in Devon is mostly decorated very simply, in calm colours, natural timbers and pale stones with a few mad wallpapers thrown in for fun. If she has to add colour, it will always be green or mustard. Her home also features quite a lot of beautiful bespoke furniture made by her cabinetmaker husband, Nick, but not as much as she’d like – his customers always get first priority!
