Instant Pot Buying Advice

How to get the best Amazon Prime Day Instant Pot deal for you

There are a few things you can do to get ahead of the game when it comes to bagging a Prime Day Instant Pot deal. Follow these steps and you'll be able to get what you need, and save the maximum amount of money...

1) Know what Instant Pot you want (and the one you REALLY want)
Chances are, if you're searching for Instant Pot deals, you already know you want an Instant Pot. You may already know what model you think is best for you. If you don't, then do a bit of research (we've listed our top four Instant Pot models below), and pick a Pot that works for you and your family.

Next, find one that is maybe a bit more luxury. Maybe it's bigger, maybe it has a few more features - something that's really excellent, but maybe you can't quite afford, or you think it's perhaps not worth paying full price for. Now you're set.

2) Check the price history
There are plenty of sites that track the price history of items in online retailers, and our favorite for Amazon is CamelCamelCamel (opens in new tab). This gives you a full breakdown of the item's price history in a handy-to-follow graph format. It tells you the highest, lowest, and average prices of the item. So, if you're looking to make sure you're really getting the best Prime Day Instant Pot deal, make sure you have a quick look at CCC now, and then check it again on the day itself.

3) Know when to buy
Shopping can get pretty tense on Prime Day, so if you're looking for a particularly hot Instant Pot deal, it's tempting to just get it right away. That's absolutely the right tactic, unless you're willing to settle for any kind of Instant Pot. In this case, it pays to shop for either Amazon Lightning Deals, which are timed deals with limited stock, or to wait for the inevitable 'second wave' of Prime Day deals, which come on the Tuesday.

We absolutely recommend buying the model you want immediately, if it's on sale during Prime Day. Check your chosen Instant Pot, check the 'dream pot' you thought you couldn't afford, and make your choice then and there. Items will sell out, and if you have your heart set on a specific model, just get it. If you can wait, though, you may find something even better in a Lightning Deal.

4) Get a Prime Membership in advance
A wise, wise bit of advice here. If you think the best Amazon Prime Day Instant Pot deals will sell out quickly in 2021 (and we definitely do), then make sure you have a Prime Membership in advance. Amazon not only offers a free trial for Prime Membership, but it also offers discounts on this ahead of Prime Day. Get yourself set, signed up, and ready to buy. Prime Day sales are only available to Prime members, so you need to be signed up to take advantage of the offers. We recommend signing up the weekend before Prime Day, ready for the sale on Monday.

The best-selling pressure cooker has an easy to read display with 14 different one-touch smart programs that include dishes like soup, chili, and rice. The Instant Pot Duo also lets you pressure cook on low or high so you can adjust the temperature based on what meal you're preparing.

This particular model is popular because the size is perfect for most families and the price is affordable and frequently discounted at online retailers.

Instant Pot LUX60V3

2. Instant Pot LUX60 6 Qt 6-in-1 Pressure Cooker

The most affordable Instant Pot

Pot size: 6 Quart | Pressure Cooking Time: Up to 4 hours | Power: 1000W

This six-quart Instant Pot slow cooks, pressure cooks, makes rice, sautés, steams, and has a "keep warm" option but lacks the yogurt setting that the other models include. The Lux can only pressure cook on high, which may require monitoring to make sure meals don't overcook.

This is a fantastic model for beginners and for those that are looking for a more affordable option. The Lux is the least expensive Instant Pot model and can normally be found on sale.

Instant Pot Ultra

3. Instant Pot Ultra 8 Qt 10-in-1 Pressure Cooker

Largest capacity with advanced features – great for larger families and groups

Perfect for large families, the eight-quart Instant Pot Ultra is the ultimate pressure cooker for anyone who loves to cook. In addition to the seven appliances the Duo offers, the Ultra can also make cake, cook eggs and sterilize. This feature-rich Instant Pot also includes a central dial that provides added precision in program selection and temperature adjustment. The Ultra includes an impressive 21 pre-set temperature options and 16 different built-in smart programs. The Ultra also offers an altitude adjustment setting to give you a hand with recipe conversion.

Because the eight-quart Instant Pot Ultra is packed with added features, it does cost more than the previous models, but for adventurous cooks, it will be worth every penny.

Instant Pot Duo Mini 7-in-1

4. Instant Pot Duo Mini 7-in-1 Pressure Cooker (3 qt)

Perfect for small meals and side dishes

Pot size: 3 Qt | Pressure Cooking Time: Up to 4 hours | Power: 700W

Affordable price
Limited capacity

The mighty but small Instant Pot Mini is perfect for singles or couples that only need to prepare small portions. This three-quart pressure cooker still combines seven kitchen appliances in one and offers 11 different built-in smart programs. The compact Mini also features 12 different temperature settings and includes up to four hours of pressure cooking time.

The affordable Mini is excellent for making side dishes and small meals, and the compact size makes it perfect for travel and storage.
