Amazon Prime Day Instant Pot deals: what you need to know

When is the next Amazon Prime Day?

The next Amazon Prime Day is expected to happen in July 2025. Although Amazon usually reveals the exact date closer to the event, Prime Day has traditionally occurred around the middle of the month, specifically in the second or third week.

After this, the Big Deals Day event is usually scheduled in October in the UK and the US. Last year, we saw a lot more "limited-time deals" announced before Prime Day. Often, these deals offered the same prices as usual with no deeper discounts. The same trend may repeat this year, so keep an eye out.

Along with Prime Day, Amazon hosts other sales events throughout the year. Make sure you're following this site and Amazon's announcements so you know what's coming up on Prime Day.

When does Amazon Prime Day start?

Summer's Amazon Prime Day has historically been held on a Monday or Tuesday. It kicks off a 48-hour period of exclusive deals for Amazon Prime members. Big Deals Day, held in the Fall, follows the same pattern, normally running between the start of Tuesday and the end of Wednesday.

Ahead of Prime Day, Amazon teases upcoming deals and offers early access promotions, encouraging members to prepare their wish lists and stay informed to take advantage of the anticipated savings.

When does Amazon Prime Day end?

In most cases, Prime Day lasts 48 hours, so Prime members get a chance to save a ton of money. Prime Day usually starts on a Monday and ends on a Tuesday. For example, if Prime Day starts on July 15, it ends on July 16. During this time, shoppers can find deals on electronics, home goods, clothing, and much more, so bargain hunters have a blast.

As well as Prime Day, Amazon often features lightning deals, which are time-sensitive deals that last for a few hours or until items sell out, making shopping more urgent. Some Prime Day deals might still last for a limited time after Prime Day, but the best deals are usually limited to 48 hours, so you need to act fast to get them.

How does Amazon Prime Day work?

Amazon Prime Day (or Big Deals Day) is a special sale event only for Prime members, offering deep discounts on a variety of items. It's usually held once or twice a year in Summer and Fall, and members can get big deals on electronics, home goods, fashion, and more. To take part, you need to be a Prime member.

Discounts may vary, with some items marked down significantly, while others may have limited-time "lightning deals" that last only a few hours or until the stock runs out. During Prime Day, Amazon often offers members early access deals so they can get them early. Users can create wish lists and set alerts for specific items during the event to take advantage of the big savings.

How do I become an Amazon Prime member?

To access Prime Day deals, you must be an Amazon Prime member. Prime costs $14.99 a month or $139 a year.

You can use the Amazon Prime 30-day free trial if you aren't already a member. However, you won't be eligible if you've used it in past Prime Day sales or subscribed.

With the free trial, you can get all the membership benefits, like free next-day shipping, Prime Video, and more. You can cancel free any time during the trial, so it's worth looking into for sale events.

How to shop Instant Pot deals this Amazon Prime Day

Are Instant Pot appliances worth buying this Prime Day?

Modern kitchens are stocked with these multi-functional kitchen gadgets because they simplify meal preparation, making them a staple. But do they live up to the hype? One of the main benefits of owning an Instant Pot is its versatility.

It can work as a pressure cooker, slow cooker, rice cooker, steamer, sauté pan, and even yogurt maker. It can save you time and space in your kitchen. An Instant Pot can significantly cut cooking time so you can do weeknight dinners or meal prep for the week ahead. Also, it's healthy.

You're more likely to eat healthy when you can cook meals quickly while retaining nutrients. Almost everyone says it's easier to avoid takeout or processed foods when you can make wholesome, home-cooked meals in a fraction of the time. But it would be best to weigh the price against how often you cook. Prime Day is a great time to buy Instant Pots, but they're still an investment.

It might not be worth it if you don't cook often or prefer traditional methods. However, it could be great if you like experimenting with recipes or need to streamline your cooking.

How much does an Instant Pot typically cost?

Most Instant Pot models can cost $50 to $150 depending on their size, features, and model. Basic models, like the Instant Pot Duo, tend to fall on the lower end of this range, whereas more advanced versions with additional features, like the Instant Pot Ultra or Smart, tend to reach the higher end.

During promotional events like Prime Day, you might find models for as low as $30 to $40. Retailers often offer significant discounts, so it's a great time to buy.

When buying an Instant Pot, it's also important to consider the potential savings on electricity and cooking time. It's designed to be energy-efficient, so you'll save on utility bills over time. Plus, cooking quickly can save money by reducing the need for takeout or prepackaged food.

How to know when you've found a great Instant Pot deal

You can do a few things to get ahead of the game when bagging a Prime Day Instant Pot deal. Follow these steps to get what you need and save the maximum money.

1) Know what Instant Pot you want (and the one you REALLY want). Chances are, if you're searching for Instant Pot deals, you already know you want an Instant Pot. You may already know what model you think is best for you. If you don't, research (we've listed our top four Instant Pot models below), and pick a Pot that works for you and your family.

Next, find one that may be a bit more luxurious. Maybe it's bigger or has a few more features—something that's excellent, but maybe you can't quite afford it or think it's not worth paying full price for. Now you're set.

2) Check the price history. Plenty of sites track the price history of items in online retailers, and our favorite for Amazon is CamelCamelCamel. This gives you a full breakdown of the item's price history in a handy-to-follow graph format. It tells you the item's highest, lowest, and average prices. So, to ensure you're getting the best Prime Day Instant Pot deal, have a quick look at CCC and then recheck it on the day itself.

3) Know when to buy. Shopping can get pretty tense on Prime Day, so if you're looking for a particularly hot Instant Pot deal, it's tempting to get it immediately. That's the right tactic unless you're willing to settle for any Instant Pot. In this case, it pays to shop for either Amazon Lightning Deals, timed deals with limited stock, or wait for the inevitable 'second wave' of Prime Day deals, which come out the day after the sale launch.

We recommend immediately buying the model you want if it's on sale during Prime Day. Check your chosen Instant Pot, the 'dream pot' you thought you couldn't afford, and make your choice then and there. Items will sell out, and if you have your heart set on a specific model, just get it. If you can wait, you may find something even better in a "limited-time deal."

4) Get a Prime Membership in advance. Here is a wise bit of advice. If you think the best Amazon Prime Day Instant Pot deals will sell out quickly in 2024 (and we do), then make sure you have a Prime Membership in advance. Amazon not only offers a free trial for Prime Membership, but it also offers discounts before Prime Day. Get yourself set, signed up, and ready to buy. Prime Day sales are only available to Prime members, so you must be signed up to take advantage of the offers.
