Wondering who is the owner of Mint Mobile? As of 2021 Mint Mobile was the USA’s fastest growing business and top newcomer to the highly competitive telecoms arena. The company picked up several awards and even earned the top place in our round-up of the best cell phone providers.

So what’s the story behind America’s fastest growing company? While David Glickman (CEO) and Rizwan Kassim (Managing Partner) run the show and day-to-day operation of the company, it may surprise you to know that Deadpool movie star Ryan Reynolds is also a co-owner of Mint Mobile, acquiring a stake estimated to between 20-25% back in 2019.

The extra press from having such a high profile figure investing heavily into the company has boosted its credibility, created a buzz and whipped up positive press, only helping Mint Mobile go from strength-to-strength in recent years.

On the Mint Mobile website, Ryan is quoted saying “While every other tech titan is off chasing rockets, I’ll corner the budget-friendly wireless sector. Like most people, I only use rockets 10-12 times a year but I use my mobile service every day.”

It’s not the first time the movie star has made headlines for his bold investments. Back in 2021 the Deadpool actor turned heads when himself and fellow actor Rob McElhenney (Always Sunny in Philadelphia) co-bought Welsh soccer team Wrexham A.F.C. The business-savvy movie star is also involved in brands including Aviation American Gin and Maximum Effort, with Forbes estimating his net worth at $71.5 million back in 2020, though some reports predict his net worth has grown considerably since then.

Things are looking bright for Mint Mobile which has seen impressive growth since its inception back in 2015, now drawing in a revenue of over $100 million per year.

Mint Mobile is an MVNO and runs off of T-Mobile’s 5G network towers. Part of the company’s success comes from the fantastic value it offers customers on its 10GB, 15GB or Unlimited plans that you pay for upfront in blocks of 3, 6 or 12 months. This means there’s no nasty added surprises on your bill each month making it ideal for anyone looking to pay for a plan upfront such as parents with children that have access to a mobile or students on a tight budget for example.

Adding to the value is free calls to Mexico and Canada as well as access to ultra-fast 5G, a feature that many of Mint’s competitors charge extra for. These are just some of the reasons Mint Mobile took the top spot in our Best cell phone providers 2023: the carriers you can trust review, click here to see more about its wide range of plans and free trial.
