iPage cloud hosting service has experience hosting websites from a variety of industries, including business sites, personal website and websites for nonprofit organizations. This cloud server brings up the tail end of our best cloud hosting service reviews and offers a variety of features that meet the needs of your small business.
The hosting package provided by this service offers many of the features we looked for in a cloud server but lacks the flexibility of some of the higher-ranked services in the lineup. This service provides you with unlimited domains and subdomains as part of your personal cloud server. You are also allotted 40GB of dedicated disk space, putting it in the top half of the lineup for the amount of disk space provided. You also receive 1TB of bandwidth with iPage's basic cloud hosting package.
When you use this service, you can create an unlimited amount of email accounts and MySQL databases. Though, nothing with cloud hosting service is truly unlimited. With iPage, the service does not give you a set number of how many email accounts or databases you can create. The number is capped by the amount of disk space you have available to you through your hosting plan. With iPage, you receive 1GB of dedicated memory.
With iPage cloud hosting, you are allowed one IP address with your account and are assigned one CPU core. We found this to be right around the average number of IP addresses and CPUs that cloud hosting services provide.
There is a knowledgebase on the company website equipped with walkthroughs and video tutorials. This support center includes resources for answering questions about your website, domain or email accounts. We found the help and support provided by iPage to mostly satisfactory, though wait times could be excessively long. Phone support is available 24/7 and is based entirely in the U.S. Around-the-clock support is a valuable resource; if something goes wrong or your site is down, you need to be able to reach support no matter the day or time. You can also access support through the live chat feature for quick questions.
The control panel utilized by this cloud host is a vDeck, rather than a typical cPanel that is employed by most other cloud hosting services. The iPage control panel has a higher learning curve than some of the other services we reviewed for this site.
vDeck is slightly less user friendly than cPanel, you still have the ability to add apps, like WordPress and Weebly, to your dashboard. Additionally, with this control panel, you also have the ability to create custom 404 pages and transfer an existing domain name to your account free of charge.
Security features that come with the basic cloud hosting package include spam assassin and raw access logs. Other, more advanced features like site backup and restoration, can be added for an additional charge per month.
iPage offers dozens of features, many that are unlimited. The use of vDeck as the main website control panel causes some complications, but is still usable and compatible with popular add-ons like WordPress. We found the help and support to be useful and the knowledgebase had videos that answered many of our basic questions. Overall, iPage is a good choice for your cloud hosting needs.
