Punch Interior Design Suite helps you quickly start designing with its convenient QuickStart menu. Using the QuickStart menu, you can drag and drop rooms into your 2D floor plan. After you place the rooms, you can change their dimensions and arrange them any way that you like. This makes creating a custom floor plan simple, especially if you are a novice to home design software.

You can quickly furnish each room by dragging and dropping any of the editable room templates from the object library found on the right side of the screen. If you struggle with interior design, these designer templates can serve as inspiration. These advanced tools help you design features in your house to the finest detail, such as where to place that eccentric lamp, and guide you through the entire process. If you want to furnish each room yourself, you can select furniture, appliances, building materials and more from the object library, which features over 4,700 objects.

Details pieces such as curtains and ceiling fans are ample in this version of Punch Interior Design and are included within the library. There are many building materials you can use in your home design, including those for flooring, paint and wall textures. You can even change the style of the shingles on your roof. Though the program doesn’t have a landscaping module, there is an extensive plant library.

If you don’t want to create a custom floor plan, you can choose from one of the program’s 45 sample home plans. These home plans represent a variety of different styles, including single- and double-level homes with many different layouts. In addition to providing you a starting point, these sample home plans help you acclimate to the room design software by being editable. They also serve as a good source of inspiration when you are designing your own floor plan.

You can add electrical and some plumbing components to your 2D floor plan, but you won’t find any tools for planning HVAC systems or framing. This 3D home design software also doesn’t have any type of landscaping tools or basic topography tools, so you can’t add hills, valleys or bodies of water to your property – not even fencing. These missing tools leave your property looking flat, which is a problem if you are redesigning or building a home that sits on uneven terrain.

Punch Interior Design Suite is easy to use and has many tools you can use to design your home, along with a variety of materials to build it from. This floor plan software excels at home and interior design, but the lack of landscaping and topography tools limit its usefulness when designing your home’s exterior and landscape.
