Smart features? No

Designed in the shape of a stingray, the Hydrus Roker Plus is an aesthetically pleasing and affordable pool vacuum cleaner for small pools. It’s battery-powered and cordless, so there are no wires to get tangled or trip over.

If you're looking for the best pool vacuum or the best pool cleaner, this is a decent appliance to consider, especially for the low price – and it really delivers on style and performance. Plus I love how the brand include in the box is a set of stingray stickers for kids (or big kids!).

It’s lacking smart features, but the high-speed motor and 6000GPA strong suction inlets make light work of pool cleaning. It’s designed for pools with a maximum slope of 15 degrees, so if you have a steep drop then this isn’t a good choice for you. It also doesn’t climb walls – this is purely a floor cleaner.

In this review I’ll look more at the spec, pros and cons of the Hydrus Roker Plus, as well as expert comment and user reviews.

Hydrus Roker Plus Robotic Cordless Pool Vacuum Cleaner: Design

The Hydrus Roker Plus is black and light blue, and designed like a stingray. Ideal for in ground small pools up to 50 ft. it’s lightweight (only 10lbs), cordless and portable with a very user-friendly design.

With precision sensor technology that allows for quick wall reversing within five seconds, it’s very energy efficient with an easy-to-use buckle design to open the cover and clean the filter easily. However this product is not designed to climb walls and is only suitable for pools with a slope of maximum 15 degrees, so if your pool has a steep drop or incline then this won't be a good choice for you.

Hydrus Roker Plus Robotic Cordless Pool Vacuum Cleaner: Features

The Hydrus Roker Plus might be inexpensive but it packs a lot of power in this lightweight unit, thanks to its brushless dual motor. It is super easy to operate and maintain, and comes with auto docking for easy retrieval.

The self parking technology should come in really handy, so when the cleaner is low on battery it will automatically park itself within easy reach by a wall - a real standout feature, especially given the low price.

The vacuum has an easy to open latch on both sides so you can take the filter out and rinse off any dirt and debris. It’s cordless and runs on a lithium battery that lasts around 90 minutes on a full charge.

Features:

·       Battery operated

·       Two suction inlets

·       Auto docking

·       Brushless dual motor

·       90 minute running time on single charge

·       Quick water release

Hydrus Roker Plus Robotic Cordless Pool Vacuum Cleaner: Expert reviews

The Hydrus Roker Plus is ideal for above-ground pools 50 ft. long or less. "This lightweight cleaner has a large battery capacity and energy-saving wall-reversing technology," says Hugo Guerrero, a certified House Cleaning Technician from New York.

"It moves at 52.5 ft per minute and has an impressive 6000 GPA suction rate. I love how it's so easy to use and clean, has a high quality design and is cordless, so there is no tripping risk. The main con is it's small so tends to fill up quickly."

Should you buy the Hydrus Roker Plus Robotic Cordless Pool Vacuum Cleaner?

Affordable, powerful and easy to use, the Hydrus Roker Plus is well worth the money. It offers stress-free cleaning and involves very little effort, making it a cost and time effective choice for small in-ground pool owners. If you’re looking for high tech smart features you might prefer to spend a bit more, and it's not suitable for pools with a slope or wall cleaning, but for a basic does-the-job-well machine, you can’t go wrong.

How does the Hydrus Roker Plus Robotic Cordless Pool Vacuum Cleaner compare to competitors?

The Hayward Wanda the Whale pool cleaner is a cheap and cheerful choice that kids especially will love. It's basic but does a decent job of cleaning small pools.
