KaraoKing Karaoke Machine review: Design and build

The KaraoKing Karaoke Machine is built big enough to offer large room-filling sound while also being compact enough to be portable. The built-in carry handle and wheels help make moving this about easy so it could viably be used anywhere.

Lighting is built into the front of the speaker grille but there is also a disco style glitterball on top which features multi-colored lighting that can be fired about the room to create an immersive party effect.

There are metallic corners and chunky handles make the KaraoKing rugged enough to be moved about easily and safely without damage. The microphones are both wireless and come in two colors so they can be spotted apart.

There is a phone and tablet holder to hold many sized devices and these can be connected via Bluetooth, USB and aux options.

The KaraoKing Karaoke Machine features volume controls for separate mic and song volume adjusting. You also get a remote included so that songs can be changed from a distance.

KaraoKing Karaoke Machine review: Features and performance

The KaraoKing Karaoke Machine stands out from the competition thanks to those wireless microphones that make singing anywhere in the room easy. These are battery powered, by two AA batteries, so will need replacing when they run out. That said, you can always plug in a wired mic too if you need.

While the main unit is battery powered, allowing freedom of movement, the company's claim at a six hour life is a bit strong. Expect to get closer to three hours of loud pumping audio use. Of course you can simply use this plugged in and then battery life isn't a concern.

Included is a tablet and phone stand which can clip to the carry handle of the karaoke machine. This allows you to rotate the device so you can see the on-screen lyrics clearly. There isn't a dedicated app with the machine but there are both paid for and free options out there.

This karaoke machine also has an FM radio built-in, allowing you to listen or to sing along to songs as they come on. The remote control is helpful here, allowing you to control volume and input from a distance so you can take full advantage of those wireless microphones, right from the comfort of your couch.

You can even use this as a PA system if you want. Just don't expect it to be loud enough for large outdoor areas.

Should you buy the KaraoKing Karaoke Machine?

The KaraoKing Karaoke Machine is a powerful option for anyone that wants a decent audio experience with those helpful wireless microphones and remote control. The carry handle, built-in battery and rugged finish make this a solid option for kids and adults. The addition of a tablet and phone holder is useful but it's the colorful lighting which really helps to make a party atmosphere.

This is an expensive karaoke machine and you will have to replace those microphone batteries, but for a do-it all dual microphone karaoke experience, you do get a lot of bang for your buck.
