Pros / You can earn two miles for every dollar you spend, which is the most points per dollar in our review.

Cons / This air miles card doesn't give you priority boarding, free bag check or many of the nice travel benefits that the best miles credit cards provide.

Verdict / The Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card enables you to earn frequent flyer miles quickly, and you can apply them to a number of different travel rewards.

The Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card earns the Top Ten Reviews Bronze Award for air miles credit cards because it gives you the most points per dollar, a generous sign-up bonus, and a low APR for purchases and balance transfers. It doesn't charge you the international purchase fees or balance transfer fees that most credit cards do. However, after the first year with this card, you are charged an annual fee and the card lacks many of the travel-specific perks that frequent travelers look for in mileage credit cards.

Travel Benefits

The Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card is an air miles credit card that lets you earn two miles for every dollar you spend, which is the highest point-to-dollar ratio in our review. This feature is especially beneficial if you want to earn points quickly and don't mind paying an annual fee to do so. It also has the second highest sign-up offer in our review, giving you 40,000 bonus miles if you use the card to spend $3,000 within the first three months of having it. Another useful benefit is the 24/7 access to concierge service that it provides you with, which can be useful if you enjoy receiving restaurant and entertainment recommendations when you travel. Unlike the best airline miles credit cards, this card doesn’t grant you priority boarding, VIP lounge access, in-flight discounts or free bag check when you use your card to purchase your travel fare. However, you can take advantage of no blackout dates and the ability to apply your points to international flights when booking travel with your miles.

Key Features

This air miles credit card offers many of the key features that are important to have when you travel frequently. When you use your card to purchase your travel fare, you automatically qualify for travel accident insurance, rental car insurance, lost luggage reimbursement and 24/7 roadside assistance; all of which would provide welcome assistance should an unfortunate situation transpire while you are traveling. Additionally, this air miles card offers purchase protection, extended product warranty and zero liability.

This frequent flyer miles card offers a 13.99% to 20.90% Variable APR for the purchases and balance transfer transactions you make with the card, which are among the lowest rates in our review. You can expect a 24.9% Variable APR for any cash advance transactions you make and a 29.4% penalty APR if your payments are late. This air miles card doesn't offer an introductory APR.

Fees & Penalties

This card includes most of the industry standard fees that are commonly attached to credit cards. However, unlike many cards, this air miles credit card doesn’t charge you a fee for balance transfers and doesn't charge you a fee for international purchases, which means that you can travel abroad without paying a fee every time you buy something.

This Capital One® Venture® Rewards Credit Card waives the annual fee for the first year you have the card, then is $59 per year. If you use this card for cash advances, you pay a minimum $10 or 3% fee for each transaction.
