The official start to the Memorial Day Sales are just shy of a month away, yet while we wait I've spotted some more general sales and deals that would be worthy of your attention. Across all the appliance and yard tool categories I'm seeing a bunch of discounted washing machines, refrigerators, vacuum cleaners and lawn mowers that have become (a little) more affordable.
This year, Memorial Day falls on Monday, 27 May. It's a federal holiday honoring all the men and women who died while serving in the US military and is observed on the last Monday of May, so it'll be a different date next year. And as we're beginning to see, this time of year is also the beginning of summer which makes it a fantastic time to start looking for outdoor furniture deals, lawn mower deals and chainsaw deals. You can also expect to see some mega discounts on major appliances such as the best dishwashers and best french door refrigerators from retailers such as Home Depot and Lowe's.
If you can't wait until then, I've listed out the stores to shop including Amazon, Best Buy, Home Depot along with some of my top deal find so far. I'm anticipating to start seeing offers labelled under a Memorial Day sale from the beginning of May, so I'll keep this page updated with the latest offers once they land.

Memorial Day sales 2024: FAQs
When is Memorial Day 2024?
Memorial Day is a federal holiday in the United States of America for honoring military personnel who died while serving in the armed forces. It is observed on the last Monday of May which, this year, is Monday, May 27 2024 with the long holiday weekend starting from Friday, May 24.
When to expect Memorial Day sales to start?
This is a good question to know the answer to, yet it depends on what you're hoping to buy during the sales event. You'll find early Memorial Day appliance deals available for the taking from the beginning of May, whereas early Memorial Day outdoor furniture deals will typically be launched the week before the official date.
Resellers such as Best Buy, Home Depot and Lowe's are expected to show their hand of Memorial Day sales and deals first, with the likes of Amazon and Walmart going "live" with their Memorial Day discounts later on in the month.
All sales will last throughout the sales period, with the majority ending on Memorial Day itself. With a handful of retailers expected to go into sales-mode soon, it would be a good idea to add what you like to cart before it sells out.
What to shop in the Memorial Day sales?
With the arrival of Spring and warmer weather (we hope), outdoor furniture deals are going to be in hot demand as customer wish to prepare for spending more time in the yard with friends and family. Expect discounted patio sets and separates, along with loungers and parasols. It would also be a good chance to look for deals on lawn mowers and grills as retailers tune into our ambitions of a neat lawn and impressive cook-outs.
Memorial Day is also a fantastic time to save on major appliances such as dishwashers, refrigerators and washer dryers. You'll find that brands such as LG and Samsung will have some exclusive Memorial Day sales to shop, so it would be well worth checking out the brand sites too so you can be sure you're getting the best deals—and best products for your requirements.
How to find the best Memorial Day sales and deals?
With so many retailers, and brands, offering discounts, it can get somewhat overwhelming to identify the best offers—and the offers worth having.
Chrome extensions such as Honey or 3rd party sites such as camelcamelcamel.com (Amazon products only) can provide the pricing history of products. This will show you whether or not that particular product has dropped to its lowest ever price and, indeed, if it is a deal at all. Some products which are displaying a discount may not be discounted at all, or the price was heavily inflated so it could be "seen" as being discount to try trick you into buying it.
You can also bounce between your favorite reseller sites to see if they're price matching, or under-cutting the products you're interested in. As we saw with anti-prime day deals, Best Buy, Walmart and Target challenged the prices we saw for Amazon Prime Day by matching or bettering them.
Alternatively, I'll be updating this page with all the Memorial Day sales and deals worth having. Bookmark it so you only need to shop from one place so you can save time and effort on your deals hunt and, ultimately, money.
