Singsation All-in-One Karaoke System review: Design and build

The Singsation All-in-One Karaoke System isn't your usual large speaker unit but rather it is built around the microphone stand, making it very compact. The controls and speaker are all built into the base of the stand which helps to give stability while also making it easy to move about.

The base features controls with knobs for volumes and buttons for effects. There are also easily accessible input and outport ports, the mics and the like, right there on the top face of the base unit.

There is an option to run an aux cable out from the unit to connect it to external speakers if you need more power. Ideal for use with a home stereo system, for example.

The stand has a large enough ledge to accommodate both phones and tablets. This is useful if you want a bigger screen to read song lyrics easily right there by the microphone, which can be docked at the top for hands-free singing.

The multi-colored lighting unit is at the front so it can light up the room without glare to the person standing above it, singing.

Connectivity options include aux and Bluetooth. The unit is mains powered without a battery so it does require you to have it plugged in at all times.

Singsation All-in-One Karaoke System review: Features and performance

The Singsation All-in-One Karaoke System features 10 different voice effects including harmonize, high and low pitch, chipmunk and more. There are also sound effects that can be used including DJ scratch, airhorn, cheers and more. These are fun, but since the buttons are on the base unit they do require you to bend down to use them, which isn't very helpful.

The fun continues with the lights. The multi-colored lighting isn't just an on and off affair, oh no. The Singsation All-in-One manages to offer 16 different room and ceiling filling light shows to pick from.

Bluetooth connectivity is really useful since the phone or tablet you connect is going to be on the stand top, quite far from the base unit where you might otherwise plug it in.

Talking of the stand, this is adjustable between two and six feet in height meaning it works well for most people from adults to kids.

The built-in speakers are good for their size but don't expect to fill a massive party room or a bar, for example. This is suited for at home fun but if you want to go louder you'll need to hook up to a larger external speaker.

There have been some grumbles about the microphone quality, but others find it fine – so this may just be down to preference but it's worth mentioning at this price point.

Should you buy the Singsation All-in-One Karaoke System?

The Singsation All-in-One Karaoke System is a compact way to get a speaker, microphones, Bluetooth, and wired connectivity plus light and audio effects all into one unit. The adjustable height stand is helpful and audio is powerful for the size of the small speakers.

If you want more power on board or battery operation as an option you may want to look elsewhere.
