If you are seeking basic, no-frills typing software, that delivers all of the essentials you need to improve your keyboarding skills, including a cumulative curriculum, timed tests and accuracy training. While the application does not offer much beyond that, it does boast a few features, including its unique Satellite feature, that make it worth a look. Satellite makes it the only typing program in our lineup that can track your typing skills outside of the application.

This typing software teaches accurate touch typing through progressive, step-by-step lessons. You learn the home keys and how to type efficiently while not looking at the keyboard, which is what touch typing is all about. The software uses a virtual keyboard to illustrate proper finger movement and timed typing tests to evaluate your typing speed.

The standout feature of this typing test software is what the application calls Satellite. When enabled, this tool analyzes your typing while you use computer applications outside of TypingMaster Pro, evaluating your typing skills while you perform everyday computer tasks. The tool then identifies keys, words and letter chains that are problem areas for you and suggests exercises to improve them. You can also choose any drill and test in the software to work on a specific typing weakness.

The program delivers effective touch-typing instruction. However, it presents an outdated interface that is at odds with the best typing software that you can buy these days. Compared to other typing applications, TypingMaster Pro looks dated, but its lack of polish does not affect its usability or effectiveness. You can contact customer support via phone or email if you have questions, or you can reference the FAQs section online.

TypingMaster Pro's dated interface detracts from the overall appeal of this application, but it still is a useful application. You can use it to learn typing basics quickly. The unique Satellite tool is an especially beneficial feature that tracks the progress of your typing skills while you perform your regular daily tasks. Aside from the Satellite tool, there aren't a lot of extras, but it has the tools you need to effectively learn to type.
