One advantage of this elliptical bike is that you can adjust the stride length from 20 to 22 inches. Twenty inches is a common stride range for an elliptical machine. However, being able to adjust the stride to the length of your legs is a convenient way to ensure you are exercising in the most comfortable position.

With this elliptical, you get 10 preset programs, including two you can set yourself. While the best elliptical machines provide more routines, 10 presets offer a sufficient range of workouts to build endurance and strengthen muscles at the same time. This elliptical machine offers 16 resistance levels, which is a bit below average, but it lets you determine the intensity of the workout well enough.

Additionally, the SOLE E35 lets you change the ramp angle through the machine’s power incline. The incline ranges from totally flat to 30 degrees, which gives you an extensive array of workout options and also lets you focus on specific lower body muscle groups. This is a great range considering most elliptical machines usually only offer up to 20-degree incline adjustments. You can also pedal in reverse to work different muscle groups. The elliptical trainer's movable handlebars provide a vigorous exercise regimen for your arms and enhance the overall cardio benefits of the workout.

While you are working out, you can track your time, the distance traveled, the number of calories you have burned and the resistance level. You can see all these stats on a backlit blue LCD display screen.

You can track how fast your heart is beating using the sensors on the stationary handlebars by simply grasping them briefly. This registers your pulse and displays it on the machine’s screen. You also can monitor your pulse by putting on the included chest strap.

The SOLE E35 elliptical cross trainer boasts a flywheel weighing a hefty 29 pounds, which adds some sturdiness and stability to any workout, making the whole experience smooth. The machine measures over 5 1/2 feet long, 2 1/4 feet wide and just over 5 1/2 feet high, making it easy to store out of the way. This sturdy elliptical can handle up to 300 pounds of user weight.

The company offers an impressive warranty package: a lifetime warranty on the frame, five years on parts and two years on labor. SOLE provides a FAQs page and its product manuals on the company website. Phone help is available Monday through Friday during business hours. For sales, technical and warranty support, you can reach the company via phone or email.

This elliptical cross trainer can provide a superb workout, thanks to its adjustable stride length, automatic incline and resistance adjustment, and multiple user profiles. While it does not have as many specialty workouts as the best elliptical machines, the SOLE E35 Elliptical is worth considering if you are looking for a practical elliptical bike with all the basic features.
